Just Stop Oil continue their quest to win hearts and minds by throwing some powder or something over the tables at the World Championship.
That'll help.

Stephen Hendry's first thoughts, quite rightly, were for the welfare of the table and the green baize rather than for the existential threat that continuing to extract fossils fuels poses to humankind:
"It is scary. Wow! You just hope the cloth can be recovered from that. It caught us all by surprise and then this happens. For me, straight away as a snooker player I am thinking: ‘Is the table recoverable?’ We don’t know what that is on the table."

Perhaps a protest not on a snooker table would get a response less snooker centric? Just a thought

This could be the break the Ant-Oils have been waiting for.

They do fly in each ball separately from a different country. And all the snooker cues are powered by leaded petrol. Plus The Crucible, as its name suggests is a coal-fired power station for the rest of the year. So you can understand why they thought this was a very appropriate place for a protest.

Why can't they protest in a way that doesn't upset or inconvenience anyone FFS?

It's just attention seeking, they should protest in a way that doesn't cause upset or inconvenience or draw any attention.

Anyone else on here watching this tournament?
Higgins absolutely destroyed Wilson in that first session. McGill also looking on form, so can see him giving O'Sullivan a proper game in the semis.

Like darts, snooker is not a sport but a pastime or hobby and because of that I don't watch it.

Correct
You can't play sport to a high level wearing your normal clothes. Snooker & Darts can be played in jeans & a t-shirt without affecting your performance.

Got to love the snooker, big time thief though especially on a drowsy Sunday post Champions drinks. Not sure why it cannot be enjoyed because it may not meet the definition of sport. O'Sullivan looked at his very best but so did Higgins this morning, incredible class of 92 still going strong. For reasons I am not clear on I had a bet on Si at 130, he is now 11/1.

Good on Brecel for getting through.
Watching the Selby/Higgins match was depressing, as you could see Selby just suck the joy and oxygen out of each frame until Higgins was totally ruined. Selby's the clear favourite now but I'm hoping for shock win from Allen so we don't have a tedious final.

I would love to see the young Chinaman win it , alas I feel he's too young and inexperienced at the moment

Completely agree, Ron. But, either way, I think the Lucca Brecel v Si Jiahui semi final is the most interesting one.

Caught the first three frames of the Selby v Allen match. Took an hour and a half. It's like Griffiths V Thorburn all over again.
