Is he a serious contender for a place as left back against Cheltenham?

Why not? This is surely going to be his breakout year.
Let’s play the lad.

I have read a lot of good things about Ogie so far, and if I am not wrong, Widdowson have only played in central-defence so far. Maybe they want to give the youngster a real chance.

I think you are right fella. It is a pity some boarders are so negative about the yoof.

He looks a serious prospect. Mid table Championship sides will be sniffing round. But too soon for him this season.

So are we saying he looks better than Widdowson?

He will. Remember, some people on here said Elokobi must play over Marv this time last year.
They got quite hot under the collar about being absolutely right too.

Ogie is going to be a top player, but whether he starts first game at left back is debatable
As it happens, i think all the kids in the squad this season will turn out good players, I hope we get some use from them before the owners sell them

I have been singing the praises of shadrich for over a year. I think he will be awesome, he is so strong and powerful he just brushes opponents aside. I know he is seen as a central defender but I think he would make an excellent full back.

Looks a really good prospect, would be good if he could play on the right. Would have him ahead of both Ling and Judd. Otherwise for now Widdowson's and Turley's experience makes it difficult to see him getting in the team.

A really good option to have as it means we have back up at LB, as well as CB with him or Widdowson.

I would be surprised. Likely to be a cautious start to the season. The kids will get their chance but no experimentation in game 1. A bad start could damage their confidence. First league game not the place

We have two other more natural left back prospects than Ogie.
He will be a great left sided centre half though soon enough.

Thought Sweeney was the LB? Would imagine he'd get a go in some of the cup competitions at least.
On the topic of the youth players where does Shabani play? Saw him on the team sheet the other day but hadn't heard much of him until now.

I can see us integrating him slowly as the season goes on. It's good for him that he plays at a position where there is already a lot of depth. Gives him time to season while getting some game time every now and then.

Gshaw, Shabani plays in midfield. He is a very big lad for his age and showed some skillful touches and didn’t give the ball away often. Early days, but I thought he looked promising.

Shadrach could be the answer on the right given Judd’s injury issues and Ling’s skill issues.

I thought last season Widdowson was great. It would be a bit ironic if he was rewarded for his improvement with being dropped for an untried youth team player.

Can anybody confirm how to pronounce this young lads surname correctly?
In my mind it's like "Ogie, Ogie, Ogie, Oi! Oi! Oi!"
I hope this is correct because it lends itself naturally to a chant.
