Have We Run Out of Steam?

The last few performances have seen us leading , and not hold on to the win.
Yesterday to be 2-0 up ( with good fortune), and lose two goals in the dying minutes, shows a team that has lost its way, and simply run out of steam. We seem to have forgotton how to win, and we are in danger of blowing promotion.
Many of teams behind us have to play each other, as Steve and Carlisle did yesterday, and this may help us just hold on, but it looks like its going to be tight now.
I think the players are really nervous, and it shows.
As for me, I'll be lucky to last, such is the anxiety.

Unbeaten in Eight. Six points clear at the top stop panicking.

It was never, ever going to be easy, we was never going to storm it, with ten games left all the clubs will drop points and lose games and we will be no different. Stevenage lost to Rochdale a few weeks ago - bad results happen in League Two.
We've had it all our own way at home for so long, a bad result was always going to happen at some point again.
Last weeks postponement was a kick in the balls.
We are still unbeaten in 8 games, if in 10 games we don't go up then that will be the time to criticise.

If we cannot get 12 points from 10 games to gain promotion then we don’t deserve to go up. Forget for the moment of being Champions until such a time the club in 4 th place cannot get to us. We have gained 4 wins and 4 draws in the last 8 games that’s promotion form. If we can gain any where near that many points in the next 8 games then we are champions

Somebody said on another thread we only needed 9 more points for automatic promotion so which is it then . Do we need 82 or 85 for automatic promotion?

Unbeaten in 8
6 points clear
10 games to go
It’s up to Stevenage, Carlisle and Northampton to keep pace with us!
We keep this unbeaten run going, we will be a L1 team next season.
To be crowned champions would be a great reward after the season we have had (and because I have had £20 on us at 12/1)
But slowly week by week, 4 will become 3, 3 will become 2, then we will become champions!

We deserve to be champions. We've been top nearly all season long, so to lose it now would be worse than heartbreaking.
We look like we've forgotten how to win.
3, successive games where we've took the lead, and not won the game. That would never have happened a couple of months back
It's worrying

Really? You think this is worrying?
We're as good as promoted with 10 games left to play. Enjoy the last couple of months of our promotion campaign FFS man.

Not only is it in the bag, the bag has been padlocked and checked in at Heathrow for the flight to Vegas.

What games have you been watching then ? I reckon it is a bit worrying. Our performances have dipped and i'm not kidding myself. We're nowhere near the force we were earlier in the season. Somehow, we're hanging in there at the top. Colchester fans were singing, "top of the league, you're having a laugh..". And unfortunately i have to say, they are right.

Have we run out of steam - yes a little, but from superlative form....our form after the first amazing 10 games (x9 wins and a draw) has been 45 points from 25 games - which is 1.8 per game. Which would equal somewhere around 3rd / 4th in the final table over a whole season.
I think we need c. 83 points for promotion and perhaps not many more to get the title. So we need a minimum of "just OK" form to get promoted and a bit better than that for the title. 10 games - 3 wins / 3 draws and 4 defeats will see us promoted and 4 wins / 3 draws and 3 defeats or so for the title.
RW, the team and all of us fans just need to hold our nerve - it all feels harder because of the unreal start we had. We have the squad and management team to see it through...

We have set our own ridiculous high standards earlier in the season, our recent run of unbeaten in last 8 games, winning 4 and drawing 4, is not poor form, maybe the performances have dropped off, but the mark of a good side is picking up points even when they are not playing well.
It happens to all the teams who are nearing promotion, look at Forest Green last season.
It’s because we are not use to being in this position or experienced it for a while, as to why some fans are panicking, so calm down, get behind RW and the boys and put the negative stuff aside, and bloody well enjoy the run in.
Unbeaten in last 8
Not firing on all cylinders
Top of the league with 6 point gap
10 games to go
COYO’s in RW and the boys we trust!

I'm finding it very difficult to retain perspective, but Saturday was the first time since Tranmere where I thought we were absolutely rubbish. Otherwise performances have generally been decent, if not the heights of earlier in the season, and decent is all we need from now till end of season.
I will definitely be entering panic mode if we fluff Saturday though. Anything less than 4 points against two relegation candidates is gonna put pressure on ourselves and the way we threw Saturday is going to be on their minds in every single tight game we play for the rest of the season now. Carlisle is an extremely difficult game and Salford away is a very tricky one. Anything less than 4 points from the next 3 games is gonna make each subsequent match a nervy f*cking nightmare to watch.

“ We’re as good as promoted “ . You’re forgetting this is Orient we’re talking about. Those types of statements have a nasty habit of turning around and biting you on the arse. We’re not promoted until we’re actually promoted. We’re still to win some extremely tough games ahead

In answer to the opening post is “ possibly “. Ten games to go so our team needs to prove they deserve promotion . No more brain farts in defence and make more of our chances up front and we’re up . It’s down to the players.
