House Prices

House prices are dropping like a stone, because of brexit, and the threat of a no deal brexit. I forecast, 2 years ago, that if brexit happened, house prices would drop by as much as 20% in London. they are already 4 % down, and we havent even left yet.

I also forecasted on the day of the referendum, that if we leave the EU, the pound would fall to parity with the dollar. On the day i said that, the pound was 1.54 with the dollar. Its about 1.22 now, but my forecast will happen, if we leave with no deal

what clowns decided leaving the EU was a good idea?

My partner cant sell her house despite the estate agent saying its the best in the area, is next to a station, has had about 20k worth of work done in the last 2 years because no one is buying with brexit in the air.

Apparently the rental market is booming though so those rich house owners can buy up more property cheaply and charge extortionate rent. Surprise surprise.

Using house prices possibly dropping as a negative side-effect of the Brexit catastrofuck is just plain bizarre.

Unless you donโ€™t have kids, never will have kids, or plan on emigrating to Outer Mongolia at some point, there is absolutely nothing at all good about house prices being so ludicrously high.

So you are in favour of high house prices? Why?

A friend of mine just bought a house for 75k less than it was listed for at the beginning of the year. You're welcome.

My house price has risen quite a lot over the past 2 years. Same as my daughters. Seeing the usual price adjustment process.

Seem to remember George Osborne predictions of massive drops if we vote leave as part of the scare campaign. Got that wrong didnโ€™t he.

As ive said.....we havent left yet. six months after we do, see if your house is worth the same as it currently is?
There was no scare campaign, just truths about how bad the economy would get and how we'd all be a bit poorer because of brexit......wait and see once we've left

Brexit or not, house prices are ridiculous. There needs to be a downward correction, however hard successive governments try and fight it with whatever means they can. Let's hope this is the start of a return to normality.
