Match Day Hospitality for Season Ticket Holders

Post by Cheshunto »

Gone up to £39 per person :o :o
It was £25 a couple of seasons ago
I think I’ll stick to the Lion and Key for my pre-match meal.

No, he hosted a “ Q and A session” at the Lion and Key over Breakfast before The Hartlepool game.
About 30-40 fans attended and Kent cam round and spent time chatting to all the fans there.
He never went near the kitchen, but breakfast was provided Free of charge by the Hotel.
Hopefully it will be repeated this season.

Fair enough. Sounds like a good idea.

Absolute joke but whatever, I've come to expect the club to be pricing a good section of our fans out of certain things.

Are there rules on what is defined as a 'community club'?

At least we’re getting ‘real (modern) football’ this season, off the pitch at least.

Hmm much ado about nothing me thinks

It was £35 in 2017

So only a £4 rise

So a 10% rise is nothing?

You sound more and more like Thor every day.

Funny about that.🤔

10% rise would equate to £38.50

Not very good Arithmetic

Funny about that 🤔

Eerrr No Lucky, it was £25 a couple of seasons ago ( NOT £35 ) maybe in the 2016/17 season, but anyway it’s still quite an increase from £25 to £39 on two or three years.
Anyway, good luck to the club and I hope the restaurant is busy but the food does need to improve a bit to charge nearly £40 a head.

Hmm I was just going on that link I posted from the club that £35 charge it states is for 2017/18 and 2018/19

I know they did a few games with hospitality discount

Anyways i either eat at home before the game or grab an egg sarnie from the Royal Caff on the High Rd

It’s not mandatory. If it’s too much, do go.

Yes, I think it went up from £25 to £35 at the start of 2017/18 season and now again to £39.
The food was OK but not worth nearly £40 a head, but of course it’s all about supporting the club, I know.
Anyway, for now I’ll continue in the Lion and Key pre-match, like many others and maybe go to the club restaurant once or twice a season.

I think they do and are disappointed that elements of it are being applied to price sections of our fanbase out of certain things they could afford before.

So if the cost of living etc has gone up in the last few years which I’m sure it has Orient are bound by there fan base to keep prices exactly as they where say 2-3 years ago? so just keep running at a bigger loss it’s what the fans want right?

No, I didn't say that.

Football clubs are businesses but they are different to pretty much every other business. Especially when you're a smaller club.

I accept that things like ticket prices, hospitality prices go up with inflation. I dont accept the way the club are going where everything is monitised, things like disabled season tickets are now 'brought in line with the rest of the league', a pre match meal costing £40, season tickets going up a ludicrous amount especially for kids, less than ideal shirt sponsors who obviously stumped up more money than anyone else, etc...

I think there's definitely a balance but we are slowly just tipping that balance the wrong way imo. At what point to fans start saying no? When theres someone guarding the side of pitch and charging £20 for every mobile phone photo? When the north stand is renamed the EDL family stand because they put in an offer we couldn't refuse?

Thats tongue in cheek but its a genuine concern of mine at the moment that this club is slowly moving away from being a 'family' and 'community' club thats open to every one, to somewhere which is used as a vehicle to monetise our fandom to the extreme at the expense of the values Orient have and should always have.

Surely the fans themselves will be the final arbiter of whether or not they are able (or choose) to afford this service? If there is an increase in revenues ,which is presumably the club’s ultimate goal, then all’s well - if not and customer numbers dwindle then it’s back to the drawing board.

How would you get the club to run without a loss then?

I agree with Red if you want a photo/ dinner blah blah blah then it’s your money spend it how you will
I chose to go for the early bird season ticket in the east so it’s roughly just over £9 a game and you call that a rip off
Disabled still get the free carers ticket so effectively that’s a fiver a game good deal in my book
As red said if things fail then back to the drawing board
What I’m wondering is that I know you wanna stand and fight for the common people but why have you bought an increased in price season ticket this year?
