Have we blown it?

Club seems to be in free fall at the moment. We are steadily working our way through a worrying decline. We’ve long since gone through the following stages:

1. “It’s ok, we’re still top”
2. “It’s ok, we’re still top, ahead of Stevenage as long as they lose their games in hand”

And pretty soon we will plummet past the next stage:

3. “Stevenage have won their games in hand and are now above us” where we will enter the next stage:

4. It’s ok, we’re still in the automatic play off places”

How long until we enter stages 5 & 6 (which are the same as stages 2 and 3, except “top” is replaced with “in the automatic promotion places” and “Stevenage” is replaced by “Northampton/Carlisle”

Real panic stations is if we hit stages 7 & 8 where “automatic promotion places” and “Northampton/Carlisle” are replace with “play offs” and “whoever is in the play off places”.

Really concerning decline recently and the players we have bought in to help us through this crisis are simply not good enough. Signing players who are unfit, haven’t played for a year or are untested in league football really isn’t acceptable

Not yet but it's heading in the wrong direction.

We have blown the chance to be out of sight by not strengthening early while we were well clear. Seems the gamble of acting late in the window to save on wages / grab a "bargain" has backfired. Now it's about whether we have enough to get going again for the run-in

It also backfired last season but lessons weren't learned .

Unfortunately, predictable and no great surprise.Save on wages and grab a bargain, well I wonder who’s idea that was ?

Forest Green went on a seven game run without a win last season, and Cheltenham did the same in 2020/21. They both ended up as champions. Let`s all calm down.

Have we blown it? No not yet but carry on like this and we will. Why we haven’t gone out and got ourselves an out and out striker god only knows🤷‍♀️Kelman and Drinnan playing up front on there own is definitely not the answer, why Wellens continues doing this mystifies me.He obviously tells his fullbacks not to venture forward to much and I think that’s why James is so ineffective. Hunt has never impressed personally but he does the job Wellens ask’s him to do.I think Wellens is a good manager but he seems to be putting his faith in some of the players he’s either managed or worked with. We started the season by pressing teams and we seem to have lost that now. We need to go back to basics like the start of the season and perhaps change our formation in which we play two up front because other teams seemed to have worked us out in the second half of the season 🙊

The answer is not yet but we're currently on the brink .Something needs to happen . Maybe it is going for broke and bringing in a new striker before the transfer deadline . I understand the creativity part but we need somebody who can put away an half chance . I don't see that in our current strikers .

We certainly haven’t blown it, but we are ‘stumbling ‘ towards the finishing line. Our usually very reliable defence let us down a bit yesterday but they’re due an off day, it’s our strike force that need to improve.
RW will know the areas we need to improve on to cope with life in League One, and there’s no need to panic at the moment.

Heh. I’d still be panicking if we were already promoted.

I Think youll find both need to Improve, Dont concede wont Lose Dont Score Wont Win . I'll Gladly accept stumbling over the finishing line , but I do think we'll get there

We've still got to play teams that are currently in 4th place down to 9th. All I know is we've got to better play better than yesterday or we will blow it .

10 points from our last 6 games; 16 from our last 8. If we carry on at that rate, we’ll “blow it” all the way to 90+ points.

“The club seems to be in free fall”… We’re unbeaten in 8 games ffs!!… What would we be in if we’d lost the last 8??
