George Evans could be on our radar as a loan until the end of season. Centre half for Millwall and was on the bench in their cup game against Sheffield United. 28 years old and has a lot of experience in Championship and L1

Looks like a good bet to me
Fits the 'played 15 minutes' hint from Ling too.

Adept at either centre-back or in the midfield, but he has only played 153 minutes this season.

Wouldn’t mind Alex Mitchell back, currently on loan at St Johnstone from Millwall.

Ditto he must have fitted into RW’s style of play as RW played him a lot. But can We afford him

Mitchell is a solid CB, but NOT a ball player that suits Wellens. Wasn't in our team at the end and was not pursued. Would be better suited to Stevenage.

Surely the fact that he’s already on loan somewhere else would put a stop to this happening

Shrimper's rave about him, but given their transfer embargo I doubt they'd want to see anyone leaving.

Millwall have a January recall clause for Mitchell, although manager Gary Rowett would ideally like him to stay at St Johnstone for the entire season.

Mitchell isn’t good enough on the ball

Going by what Martin Ling and Richie were saying in their interviews it won’t be Mitchell . However George Evans does seem to fit what they were saying

As good as he was (and he was), even Mitchell admitted that he was not a Wellens type player and "the gaffer never really fancied me". Happened to bump into him after the last home game of last season and he was a lovely fella but that he would not be coming back.
If he's progressing I think he has a place in the football league as a strong and steady centre half. Time will tell....

Definitely got a career in the FL somewhere.
