Lovely dog.what make is it.I lost my gorgeous red fox Labrador last weekend and would like a real old bitsa dog next when I can face replacing him.

My dog Filou, is a ( wait for it ) Grand Basset Griffon Vendeen. Up until last January I also had the Petit version, but she succumbed to old age. They looked almost identical but the Grands are a tad bigger. She claims to support Orient, but because they originate in Western France, I fear that she actually supports L'Orient.

Yes you can still get old fashioned mongrels.

The cross bred monstrosities that go for £1,000 and upwards aren't the only sort.
