The whole justice system is a joke and needs major overhaul, but at least they've woken up to an extent and now have whole life sentences.
As for bringing back the death penalty, he'll yes. With advancements in technology and DNA, it can now be proved when someone does the crime, so what's stopping us (and the world).

Nobody has ever been convicted of a crime they never committed
Nobody has ever been convicted of a crime based on scientific evidence that was considered foolproof at the time but has later been shown to be flawed.
There were of course no murders before 1965 when the death penalty was abolished, so it is obviously a 100% deterrent
Yes, killing people is so heinous a crime that we should encourage the state to kill people ad wrll

I say :- You got faith in our " wonderful " Police force? Considering all the recent events & scandals? One cop recently used his ID card etc to commit a particularly heinous murder. On top of that that have great record of pinning murders on the nearest likely lad who has a low IQ. Timothy Evans was hung for the murder of 2 of mass murderer Christies' victims. This was despite the fact Christies' garden fence was supported by a femur belonging to one of his victims. This occurred in my lifetime. Hanging the wrong person ( and this does occur ) never fixes any problems. Go away & get your brain to work!

Didnt intend for a death penalty debate.
I am thinking how many chances should people get? The rehabilitation obviously isnt working if he had 28 previous convictions.
The rest of us need protecting from these prolific offenders.

Wind your neck in pal, that's why I'm saying it needs an overhaul - talk about selective reading.
And whilst we've seen people convicted for crimes they didnt commit, there have been plenty like yesterday that either DNA has proven its them, or they've actually admitted it. Things have moved on since the good old days and there is now alot more ways to prove people's wrong doing.

What were the previous 28 convictions for?

McSweeney, who had only recently been released from prison, had 28 previous convictions for offences, including assault.
At the time of the killing, McSweeney was free on licence from a sentence for criminal damage, racially aggravated harassment and unauthorised possession of a knife in prison

He certainly wouldn’t have got 28 chances in Qatar.
He is a total piece of scum, and deserves the death penalty. Imagine if it was your wife or daughter.

I also read he was an abuser of his girlfriends and stamped on one of their heads, splitting their eye.
