Can’t be bothered with all that.

Sweeney came in and done well. Happe continues to deservedly hold on to his starting spot. James was a bit off the pace defensively on a couple of occasions which is most unlike him.

Everyone was a 6/10 minimum. Only foot we put wrong was in the last minute.

10 for everyone in my book, except the idiot who gave away the pen. He gets a 9.5.

Oh alright

My first trip to Spotland and it was fun!

Vigouroux - 7 - didn't have anything to do aside from giving away and saving a penalty at the end
James - 7 - was always a threat down the right and wasn't used enough despite being in acres of space
Beckles - 7 - rock solid despite that stupid header at the end
Happe - 7 - also rock solid despite lumping it in the direction of our box at the end
Sweeney - 8 - my MOM, was all over the place and even had an assist for the goal. Won't get many chances when Hunt is fit but is progressing well
Pratley - 7 - controlled the midfield for most of the game
El Mizouni - 7 - always busy moving the ball around. a real asset
Moncur - 7 - had a great first half capped by his goal. disappeared after the break
Smyth - 6.5 - an average game by his standards
Sotiriou - 6 - not on his game at the moment and will drop to the bench at the weekend
Kelman - 7 - runs all day, pressing and pressing

Subs - 6 - we were a bit rubbish in the last 20 minutes and made problems for ourselves by not holding on to the ball

Vigoroux - 7 - safe hands, gave away pen, saved pen
James - 6 - got done for pace a few times and a bit sloppy going forward, a bit below his usual high standards
Happe - 8 - solid
Beckles - 7 - as per Happen but docked a point for that casual
Sweeney - 7 - nervy start but that assist gave him a boost of confidence, really good second half some excellent interceptions near the end
backwards header that could've cost is the win
El Miz - 7 - lovely range of passing, like others got a bit too comfortable as the game went on
Pratley - 7 - standard
Moncur - 8 - looking fitter and sharper, lovely goal +1 point
Sotiriou - 6 - started very lively bit faded before being subbed
Kelman - 7 - high work rate, did really well in buildup to the goal
Smyth - 7 - lively

Drinan - 6 - fluffed two decent chances, a bit rusty but the instincts will come back with game time
Archibald - 6 - on to see out the game
Clay - 6 - as per above
Brown - 6 - as per above

Not much to disagree with there. Happe looks very solid right now. Sweeney did well against a very decent winger. There’s a player there. I would like him to be a bit braver in the final third. He’s good enough to take the initiative rather than often play it safe. Great assist.

I agree on Drinan, but he’s always needed four or five chances to get you a goal.

Pratley is immense right now. Does his stuff so efficiently and quietly.

Bring on Saturday.

Just back from the game and once again another
enjoyable trip to Spotland been on many occasions and it’s one of those football grounds you can never get bored of visiting ..
So to the game 1-0 could and have been 4 or 5
before the penalty was even given would have
been 2 pts dropped without the superb super LV…
Very pleased/impressed with Sweeney who grew into the game especially with a couple of decent tackles near the end ..
Happe continues to impress every game and is in the team on merit ..
Moncs will only get better/fitter as the season goes on and we are so blessed to have this fella at BR..
And Smyth who I may say I was a little critical of last season due to not being in the park we are finally seeing the best of him ..

Ok. I'll try to watch the match next time before doing the ratings. It's just that when I do see a game and then read the ratings after it I get the sense that whoever does them doesn't actually watch the games either. Lesson learned.

Question - When you say Happe is "solid" can I ask if he is still regularly doing those head down big punts up the park into no man's land?

I'm hoping, no.... I'm praying that Drinan isn't going to replace Kelman.
Kelman is ten times the player Drinan is.
Drinan is all huff and puff, and I can't understand the way boarders seem to think of him in the same way Barca supporters used to think of Messi!
Kelman never stops working, but unlike Drinan, he scores.
I just can't understand the love for Drinan.
Mind you many of his fans loved Alabi, who was even worse.

It’s sort of true though. Drinan as reputation precedes him. He’s a decent squad player but after RW bugged him up everyone has forgotten all the chances he missed last season. He’s a hard worker and will get the odd goal but Kelman is easily better in what I’ve seen.

I expected some of you would disagree because you don't know anything about football, especially Jes
Drinan Is poor. He missed a ton of good chances last season. Keenan is a better option.

It's good to read that Sweeney played well last night .From the times I've seen him I wasn't that impressed with him but it sounds like he's improving .I want him to do well so I hope he keeps on playing like he did last night . Well done Jayden.

3 goals in 8 apps equates to 15 in 40
Opposed to 13 in 42 apps so
Drinan isnt to far behind Kelman

Not to bad for a so called Huffer & Puffer

Anyone who thinks Drinan is a poor player is just showing their ignorance of how the game can be played. He has his limitations, obviously, otherwise he wouldn't be playing at this level, but he does a great job for the team, which is what is asked of him. As to whether Kelman is a better option than Drinan, I don't know, but it's great to have them both in the squad.

But what he said was a load of old tripe. The dross about Messi and Alain and what not.

Kelman is ahead of Drinnan at the moment and expect that to continue for the time being. Kelman is a much better finisher, like much, much better. But he doesn’t have the same physical presence as Drinnan, nor is he as quick down the channels.

Different players, different strengths.

Let gets a bit realistic here. The goal records are similar and Kelman has scored his goals in an Orient team that is flying, Drinnan scored at a better rate than Kelman when Orient were flying at the start of last season. Not sure how many Kelman would have scored in the post Christmas team that Drinnan was playing in, but blame it all on Drinnan. They are different types of players. Do I think Kelman is a better finisher than Drinnan yes. But if I need someone scrapping up front making himself a nuisance when we are up against it seeing a game out, I'd rather have Drinnan.

Yep. Do we need both players in our squad to see us to the title? You betcha.

It's not as simple as that though, Kelman on for 70 mins and Drinnan on for 20. There will be games when we're playing overly physical opponents and we will need Drinnan to start. Drinnan can also play out on the right and cause left backs a proper torrid time. It's not just his running down the line, his delivery into the box is excellent.
