Well done to the board of directors & investors
Never in my time have I seen such an investment in progressing the squad towards a promotion push. I'm sure there are players we never got but Richie has shown everyone what he can do - and the board have backed him to the hilt. Many transfer deadlines have passed with a whimper. Not this one.
Well done to the management of this club.

Time will tell if it was the right call or not! But I’ll give them credit for backing their man. We are giving it a go. No excuses now Richie, get the job done.

Re: Well done to the board of directors & investors
Massive change from the shambles of January, they've given control over to RW and PT and backed them in getting the players they want, exactly as we all have been asking for.
Already seen more progress and positive change in key areas of the squad in 6 months than we have in best part of 3 years.
Now we push onward to hold that top spot, it's getting exciting!

Correct. I'm pleased the Board have finally woken up and are doing what they should have done 3 years ago.gshaw wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 9:16 pm Massive change from the shambles of January, they've given control over to RW and PT and backed them in getting the players they want, exactly as we all have been asking for.

Considering we are the smallest club with the lowest attendances in London ,the board have done well so far this season .Max B Gold wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 9:24 pmCorrect. Re: Well done to the board of directors & investors
I think part of all of this is how Richie thinks about the game and how he wants to play it. Does not matter how much money we could invest, if QPR, Ipswich and Chelsea are sending players to an old school coach like, say, Jackett then they ain't getting much back for investing in the loan. RW will develop these players - which will mean that if we do well that others will send similar players to be schooled.

Re: Well done to the board of directors & investors
I'm excited about these new guys and there's always a hope that if they're the business and we can go up, one or two of them might stick around.
It might not be too long before we have to worry whether someone takes RW off our hands

Kevin Campbell and Harry Kane (among others) were kids when we signed them - we did alright with them.

Do you honestly know these 2 new kids? I’ve got no idea about either of them.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 02, 2022 12:37 amCorrection . We've signed some very good and exciting kids on loan .
We are definitely a much more inexperienced first team squad than we’re used to. Signing so many untried youngsters is a definite gamble but if they’re as good as Kelman and El Miz, we’ll be alright.

Still think we're OK experience wise. Pratley, Beckles, Clay, Moncur, Thompson. Vigoroux James & Hunt all have good experience. Then we have the lads like Drinan, Archibald, Happe, Smyth & Sotiriou not including our loanees, so we not exactly wet behind the ears. In my opinion the squad looks well balanced compared to Jackett's January Jumblee sale.Gary the Plumber wrote: ↑Fri Sep 02, 2022 7:44 amDo you honestly know these 2 new kids? Do Crawley count as a London side? If so they have lowest attendanceaylesburyos wrote: ↑Fri Sep 02, 2022 8:49 amI would say Wimbledon are smallersoloman wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 9:35 pmConsidering we are the smallest club with the lowest attendances in London ,the board have done well so far this season .Max B Gold wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 9:24 pm

If not, then AFC Wimbledon have very slightly higher average this season - but not by much.
Not sure what anyone's criteria are for "smallest" club, other than attendance
