Who will be the REAL Head Coach this Season?

Will it be Ross Embleton, or will it really be Martin Ling
We will not know the answer to that, but I feel ML will have much more say in team matters, than he had last season under Justin
Justin was a strong character, whereas I feel Ross isnt. Just my opinion of course

Your opinion is incorrect. Ling can't take the pressure that comes with making decisions; Embleton would have to be a fool to be a patsy - in exactly the same way that he'd be a fool not to listen to advice given. However he will be his own man - and he would have learned from JE in this regard.

I think the last two seasons has shown that Martin Ling is quite capable of handling the pressure of decision making. I'm not sure what you're trying to get at here.

Ling will be the main man. He will offer all sorts of advice but RE will make the final decisions.it just depends on how strong he is should he choose to go against advice.

He is hardly in a strong position.
JE was an experienced manager who would have been much in demand if he walked.
Ross is not.

I stand by my prediction that we'll have a new head coach brought in before the end of November .

Who will have the say between Ross and Jobi when they disagree during a game, that's where it gets interesting.
Still think we should've gone for a permanent manager as if we end up doing it 3 months in that just makes it more difficult all round.

The doom mongers are out in force again. After a season with not a lot to moan about we are allegedly once again unambitious, not buying enough players and it's all going to Ling's fault. can't help feeling some people have been biding their time waiting to have a good old whinge.

Not too much whinging going on in all honesty. People expressing views about the quality of the squad compared to last season and the ability of RE to rise to the task. Fair topics for conversation. As is the prospect of losing players like Judd, if true.

Ross is the boss on an interim basis I would think with Jobis experience in the game he will respect that decision

You don’t believe that people with the same passions and objectives can have different opinions about how those objectiives should be met! That would be boring.

Oh man, what a clown thread.
Can't see Embleton in charge past end of November. He is interim manager because of the position the club found it in after Edinburgh's death. They will appoint a permanent a new manager/head coach in before Xmas.

I haven't suggested he said any of this.

Nor me you, Red. Are you suggesting that Ling was making team management decisions on a day to day basis when JE was manager?

No I am not. I am questioning why you think that Martin Ling 'can't take the pressure that comes with making decisions'? Would you like to explain that statement in greater detail?

As you well know its in the context of managing a football team. Thats what this thread is about. On at least 2 occasions (Exeter and Swindon) Ling has had to walk away from the responsibilities of day to day team management. The details of the issues are in the public domain. He's clever enough to steer clear of becoming involved IMO; Nigel Travis and Matt Porter are smart enough to keep him away from it.
Now I've taken the time to explain further, would you care to elaborate on your reasoning?
