New advertising boards

The 'new' LED advertising boards surely aren't new are they - there were a lot of missing pixels and some larger sections not working properly. Did we get them second hand off eBay?
I don't particularly mind them but would be interested to know the story.

I thought they looked alright. Obviously not top of the range but they made our ground look moderately modern and obviously a lot more revenue too.

Sad to see the Farmacias del Ahorro advertisement gone (from the NW corner). I always wondered why a Mexican pharmacy chain was advertising at Os matches.

First, we must recognise that some forms of flashing / moving lights can cause serious side effects for people with some medical conditions.
Second, if they stay then they must produce enough revenue to fund their own upgrade, as these look shabby and not a good advert for the club.
Third, classier, more sophisticated types will run the risk of causing the issues in (1), above.

You really, morally, are against electric advertising boards aren’t you?

I don't really get anyone being vehemently against electronic boards in this day and age, but these ones look pretty tinpot. There are numerous broken elements and lots of noise on the the images where there should be solid colours.
I get we want to raise some money from this but if I'm an advertiser I'm not sure I'd be happy paying top money for a sub-par presentation of my advert.

Not at all against the electronic boards, but couldn't help noticing that nearly all the advertising yesterday was by and for the club itself

No doubt, but wouldn't the place to start be with the companies that were advertising the old-fashioned way?

I think our ground must be just about the only one that has no room for an electronic advertising /scoreboard, thanks to our saviour Barry Hearn. The club therefore, have taken advantage of the only space we do have, around the perimeter. As someone else said it, at least, gives a modern feel to the ground. I like it. We'll done to the club.

Would like the Americanism of “MAKE SOME NOISE” flashing up on them! Although there’s probably some FA/EFL rule against it.

I was remarking to two of my friends yesterday that I thought. the digital advertising looked good . I don't know if they were supposed to be like that but I noticed two of the pixels were bright red .One near the South sand and one just over the half way line towards the North stand . Were they broken ?

Either seemed to be dead pixels or glitching

They must be second hand. Still an improvement and credit to the club. Need the tannoy fixed and a couple of big screens

The tannoy in the north was worse than it’s ever been.

Yes they are - purchased from Stoke City.
Considering fans have been complaining about the Tannoy for years, bit disappointed that the digitial boards were seen as more important.

I don't think we have the space for one screen let alone two .
