Wasn't expecting 3 CBs, RW kept that one up his sleeve. Has Wood been booked a ticket to Boco Island or a late injury?

No Khan is good, would've fancied him to score had he been fit

Assume Thompson as a CDM or we are playing 5 at the back with wing backs.

James playing DM. Smyth is running rings around them but we look a little soft on the counter, which isn't that surprising seeing as Hunt only signed a few days ago, Thompson is covering at right back and James is covering in midfield.

James can't be more than a stop gap in that position, doesn't look comfortable collecting the ball from the back at all, even if he has got a decent pass on him. Missing Drinan as an out ball when under pressure at the back, which is making it worse.

Not a great first half all round. Started alright and probably should have scored by now but we look rusty all over.

Enjoyable 1st half. We started well, but Grimsby have looked dangerous.

James has done ok in midfield, but I think he should play right back instead. Replace Clay with Thompson IMO.

I think we need to keep the ball and be a bit more patient. I think we have the better players. Important we don’t play at their level. Sotiriou been quiet. Need to get him in the game.

We got progressively worse as the half went on. I like his calmness on the ball but James didn’t look like winning a tackle and their got down our flanks with ease. Giving them lots of space and they know we are high press and are counter attacking a lot. Wellens doing his nut towards the end.

Saying that, we’ve had a few half chances and a few shots. But we look a bit disorganised tbh. But we could easily go on and win this.

Thompson gets drawn in a lot which doesn't help. If Hunt is naturally a right back, may see Georgiou come on for Thompson so we have two natural full backs out there.

Moncur has been odd. Looks quality when he gets the ball but barely shown for it so far.

HT 0-0 . Quite frankly we should be winning this game at least 2-0 . We’ve had at least four quilt edge chances . It’s so frustrating . If only we could shoot straight
