Re: Rob Hunt
Wonder how much the fee was? Great negotiating.
Don't know the lad but sounds perfect, especially having worked under Richie previously.

Played for RW at Swindon. Plays RB or LB . Very small for a full back only 5 ft 7 inches .

Re: Rob Hunt
Wonder if this means a more advanced role for Tom James ??
The squad certainly has a different, much stronger look to it since last week.
Poundshop must be a lot happier tonight

Re: Rob Hunt
I Said this earlier, its the smart move . players need to be able to do more than 1 thing & play 1 position

Re: Rob Hunt
Could be Ogie or James trying out in midfield unless Hunt is coming in as an upgrade on Wood? The former would certainly be a creative way to address the difficulty recruiting that CDM role

We will have players who can run all day press all day tackle all day & pass all day .
Stop with this OUTDATED view of a CDM .

Re: Rob Hunt
Extremely good signing so i'm very pleased with this . Credit where credit due . Well done Martin Ling and of course Richie . Also if the rumour is true about getting El Mizouni on loan is confirmed then that's our squad completed. All of a sudden we're looking a lot stronger . Now for promotion COME ON YOU O's. !!

Re: Rob Hunt
Yes I think that Tom James is a quality ‘ Footballer’ and is maybe wasted even at WB and can be a creative force further forward.
Let’s see what happens in the next few weeks but whatever Ling and the club should be congratulated on some good business this week.
Even the bedwetters should be happier

Re: Rob Hunt
Out of those two my guess is it would be Ogie in midfield simply because he played in that position last night .gshaw wrote: ↑Wed Jul 27, 2022 9:38 pmCould be Ogie or James trying out in midfield unless Hunt is coming in as an upgrade on Wood? Re: Rob Hunt
Nah Richie is just giving options to the squad & showing football is more now than Rigid positions that players must stick to .RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 27, 2022 9:58 pmOut of those two my guess is it would be Ogie in midfield simply because he played in that position last night .

Id say its not your opinionAdz wrote: ↑Wed Jul 27, 2022 10:16 pmInteresting, so which teams in three prem play without a cdm? In my opinion they've all got them
Its just youre way of understanding
something new ( although its really not)
to how you & others see Football .
Remember the RW interview
Where he spoke of players needing to
Adjust no more being a 9 or a 10
Youve got to be able to be a 9 10 or 11
Or be a 678
Or be a 2345
Football has evolved
Be part of its evolution or
Be chasing those who are

Re: Rob Hunt
Hadn’t thought of that. James isn’t going anywhere, he’s the perfect full back for the way Richie wants us playing. So this lad coming here to understudy him doesn’t make sense, unless it’s to play down the left. I like Wood a lot, if he’s good enough to displace him I’ll be more than happy.
f*** knows why it’s taken until now to sort this one out though. Should have been a slam dunk to sort out.
