Re: Essex CCC
So 193 for 6 at Taunton, I reckon that’s at least 20 short.
Well done to Dean Elgar 70 odd in his second T20 in six years. Cox good again and Rossington made 32.

Oh well see what Sunday brings us at Chelmsford.
Re: Essex CCC
Oh dear! 35 runs off 2 overs - 20 off Harmer and that was the end of that. Batters were poor yesterday, bowlers today.

Re: Essex CCC
That was a very nice late afternoon's entertainment.
Well done Michael Pepper with your first hundred for Essex, about time at the age of 25 but the first T20 hundred at Chelmsford by an Essex player since Cameron Delport in 2017. However and sorry to put a dampener on things, Middx are a poor T20 side again this season.
Roll on Thursday evening.

Re: Essex CCC
Well done Pepper and team. Unnecessary shots by Elgar, Walter and Critchley though - Harmer struggling with the ball. But, anyone know what's happened to Khushi and Snater?

I don't like John Stephenson's comment "He said the charge was in some ways "a relief" as the club now knows its possible fate." Although he says later in the article he hopes any penalty will not affect the "Outcome of the Championship season", I pessimistically read into his first comment that he is softening up the members/supporters for some penalty that will affect the season.
And we've still got the results of the "Batgate" enquiry to come.

I really hope that the ECB don't take the attitude that ' You've worked really hard to eradicate racism, sexism etc, will have an Essex women's side etc, but we've got to punish you for allegations where some of them are over 20 years old'. Can't possibly say what ECB would do, but clearly Essex are working really hard to be cleaner than squeaky. Still asking - what's happened to Khushi and Snater? Snates isn't in the Netherlands squad, and finding it hard to understand why Khushi isn't in the T20 squad.

Re: Essex CCC
I'm assuming we don't want to risk Snater as Cook has got the hamstring injury. As for Khushi, who knows!cymruO wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 10:43 am I really hope that the ECB don't take the attitude that ' You've worked really hard to eradicate racism, sexism etc, will have an Essex women's side etc, but we've got to punish you for allegations where some of them are over 20 years old'. Re: Essex CCC
We do that too often cruise to midway, get the RR to a level where we could easily knock it around at 4 or 5 an over for 5 or 6 overs and win comfortably but too many reckless shots. Bailed out tonight by numbers 9 and 10. We will take it but need to show more maturity.

Not Essex related but I'm off to watch Bexley CC again today , last week they managed to lose by 1 wicket when the Bickley last pair scored 27 , no doubt Bexley will throw it away again today

Re: Essex CCC
We certainly nearly snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Bad mid-order batting from us, only 6 an over needed and we are still trying to score at 10+ an over. However, fair dues to good spin bowling by Glamorgan. It did remind me of last year's final.
Harmie's gotta look at his own bowling (38 runs off just 3 overs) and why did he give Beard & Snater only one over each. Glamorgan should never have got 166 after being 24-2 at the end of the Power Play.

Re: Essex CCC
Great news for Luc Benkenstein - captain of England at 19 years old. He's quite a talent and Harmer needs to be looking over his shoulder. Forgive me for being really boring, but what has happened to Khushi. He was mentioned as playing in the seconds, but he's not even been in a T20 squad so far this season, including the squad for tonight at Lords and tomorrow at Chelmsford. Club and media are saying nothing. Not injured so, has he been a naughty boy?
