Its a new low, when the party that lied and lied, wins over the party that was truthful.
The only mitigating thing was people who wanted Britain out of the EU, were determined to vote for it, despite all the lies.
I hope thats the reason, and not that lying is now acceptable

Jezza is too honest for his own good. Hopefully whoever comes next will be more liberal with the truth. It's the only way.

You believe this type of stuff is new. We are just better at highlighting it.
.. is exactly the line taken by the mostly lying right. If they can sell the big lie that "all politicians lie, they're all the same etc etc" then they are successfully hiding the fact that Trump, Bojo and their ilk lie without embarrassment, without fear of being taken to task for it, and at a level never before seen. It would probably be more appropriate to comment when Trump or Bojo tell the truth but don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen.

One thing the Tories told the truth about was that Corbyn was leading us to electoral suicide

I firmly believe that we took the hit prior to the 2017 election.
Who knows whether we would have won in 2017; had there not been a raft of disloyal Labour M.P.'s, basically stabbing Corbyn in the back and forcing a pointless Leadership re-election the year previous. The MSM seized upon this and spun the divided party angle for the next year. Despite the smears, Corbyn's Labour achieved a 40% vote (just below Blair's 41% landslide in 2001). Instead of collectively using the time to annihilate the utterly useless Theresa May, we were involved in a pointless internal war. That took the headlines instead.
The reason we lost in 2017 was not due to Corbyn. That responsibility lies firmly at the door of the traitors within. Tom Watson, Chuka Umunna, Jess Phillips & Co. take a bow.
From thereon in, the MSM were even more relentless against Corbyn; taking no risks, they were persistent with the overly-hyped 'anti-semitism' angle, etc. Never in my lifetime, have I witnessed any political figure being so character-assassinated by the media on a daily basis. Unfortunately, thanks to a predominantly tory-loving media, the knuckle-dragging automatons believed their lies and smears.
Bringing this back on track (as it is a tory party thread) I despair at the present incumbent of Number 10. I truly feel embarrassed being British; and having this incompetent specimen as the leader of my Country. A proven liar, charlatan and philanderer; who people are seemingly far too blinkered to see through.
"Truth will out".
I personally can't wait until it does.

Seats won not vote percentage is the markerof success in this system sadly. Especially when the country is so polarised. And Corbyn got the least for 84 years

What absolute revisionist tripe. The onset of the new Blairite, Starmer, will help lead us out of the abyss that ‘the traitors’ warned us against.
A Keir leading the Labour Party again - just what we need.

Perfectly explained.
That way, when a genuine, decent, honest politician comes to the public's attention, they don't know what to make of it.

Again, perfectly put.
Those on the far right of the Labour party would rather have a Tory government than a socialist Labour government.

Apparently Rasputin is out too. I'd say with all these chances out, the UK now has more effective governance.

Very true Rory and a kinder way to potentially dispense of his services than the original Rasputin received.

Home Secretary Priti Patel said doctors, nurses and paramedics whose visas were due to run out before 1 October would be given the 12-month extension free of charge so they could “focus fully on combatting coronavirus and saving lives”.
Such generosity.

Indeed, so basically she's saying "here's an opportunity for you to put your life at risk for us, we'll be very grateful, but we'll still kick you out in 12 months time" - enjoy.

Becuase she's a bully. Not to mention smug. And a liar. And a crook. And bit of an all round cnut, generally.
That'll be why, Thor.
