He hasn't exactly been a huge success anywhere.
Not sure why Birmingham sacked previous manager to appoint him. The harsher amongst us may suggest his name is bigger than his managerial ability

Think you’ve nailed it tbh. Board at Brum wanted a “ big name”. Clearly hasn’t worked out.

I’m no fan of Rooney but TBF I think he inherited this bunch of players and hasn’t had a window to bring in any of his own, as far as I know.
John Eustace must be having a good laugh as he was doing a good job before he was sacked.

They were 6th in the table when Rooney took over. Don't think the transfer window argument washes. A good manager should be at least able to get as good performance out of the side as his predecessor with the same players
Rooney has had 3 managerial roles and been sacked from all 3 within less than 4 years. Pretty impressive going

He was only there though for 13 weeks and while his record is undoubtedly bad, he surely deserved more time and at least a chance to bring in some of HIS players. I think it reflects badly on Tom Brady or whoever sacked Eustace in the first place.

So be it. I have watched Birmingham City a couple of times on Sky and Rooney just stood on the touchline and did absolutely nothing, no shouting out instructions, no pointing out changes, nothing. He just stood on the touchline like a dummy. No wonder the BCFC fans were not enthusiastic when he was given the gig.

Deeney going felt inevitable after he balled out all his players at the weekend and then got a whopping touchline ban. Absolute car crash from start to finish.
