It was a nice day in the sun, though a bit windy, yesterday and looks like the same today. I’m happy to be watching live cricket in person. But so far the game has draw written all over it.
Some strange warm up activities and exercises from both teams

Finally Kent all out for 413 an Essex lead of 113. Compton last out for Kent making 165. A five-fer for Critchley, only one for Harmie.
Well I reckon we need 200+ in the 40 overs remaining leaving us a day to bowl Kent out. The wicket is not going to get better. Hopefully Harmie will get more luck in Kent’s second innings
Every match a draw - thanks to the weather in some cases. But, because clubs are drawing the League table at this early stage is very congested. Very disappointed but the big plus for me is that signing Elgar and Cox , plus our bowling attack Essex look more than capable of winning the championship. Another plus may be that we play Surrey twice this season ... hmmnn!
Just home from watching the Marathon, what a result. If only the rain hadn’t cut short the Kent game we’d have 3 wins out of 3. Still sweating on any penalty for the wrong bat incident in the Notts game.
Just read on Beeb website Match Report that Pepper has sustained a finger injury. That's two wicket-keepers injured in three matches. How fast are Cook, Porter & Snater bowling
This is an awesome Essex side, probably heresy but I'm sorti of pleased that Cook's retired, Elgar's come in and Browne's in the 2 XI. Snater's a revelation this season - all bodes well.

"All bodes well" ------- Jonah
It does look good, but a long way to go yet. I've seen Essex snatch defeat from the jaws of victory too many times to get excited yet.
