For us of a certain age, Gerald Sinstadt brings back some wonderful memories of football commentary. Covered northern matches and had a great voice. Football was not SUCH a money-driven product then, no franchises. Fans would be more appreciative of the style of football, rather than just the result. It was more fun. Players expressed themselves, more inclined to dribble with the ball, for example.

RIP John Sewell age 85. Ex Crystal Palace full back who was George Petchey’s first signing as manager and played briefly for the O’s in 1971/2 season.
