From the Gov link I posted: "Dmitri Lebedev is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bank Rossiya"
According to Belton. This Bank was controlled by the KGB and used to fund activities against the West during the Cold War. These days it is a full blown asset of the kleptocrats.

A principled defence of Corbyn on Russia by a proper journalist:

Oborne has a history of denying Putin and his allies war crimes while criticising NATO

A defence of Corbyn is as surprising as finding out water is wet

No I'm sure he's bang on the money if you're an anti-NATO wars crimes denier, no doubt.

Don’t be lazy - point out what he’s got wrong in the article, with links to support your assumptions

You misunderstand my point

My contention was the description of Oborne as a principled journalist given his history of shilling and that I don't find it at all surprising he's written a puff piece in support of an independent member of Parliament.

Struggle away. Attack the man not the points he made. Surely it must be a surprise that a right wing journalist is laying out the FACTS that Corbyn has been calling out Putin for over 20 years whilst the Tories, Mandelson etc have been corrupted by them.

Not really, opposition to NATO/Assad apologism is found on both the left and right.

Glad I could break that news to you

No misunderstanding on my part thank you. It seems you’re simply rubbishing the article on the basis that you don’t like the writer. I mistakenly thought you’d be able to point out what he got wrong in this specific article.

You misunderstand, I'm not seeking to comment on the article, merely the OP assertion that the author is a principled journalist, hopefully you understand this at the third time of trying.

You clearly want an argument about the article though so I suggest you have a look at Twitter where you can find people of similar IQ to shout at.

In addition to Roman Abramovich, Oleg Deripaska, Igor Sechin, Andrey Kostin, Alexei Miller, Nikolai Tokarev, and Dmitri Lebedev have also been sanctioned and their assets have been frozen. Estimated $19.7 billion hit.
I wonder if any of them are donors to the Tory party?

You're embarrassing yourself now. Best to just stop. My initial comment was that your opinion of the writer didn't mean the article was incorrect. You could have just agreed but instead chose to reply with "No I'm sure he's bang on the money if you're an anti-NATO wars crimes denier, no doubt."

Given you're incapable of pointing out any inaccuracies in the article, and you chose to ridicule it by expressing doubts about the author, and then about any reader who might find his article to be an accurate assessment, then I believe you're just digging a hole for yourself. Shame, you used to post intelligently on occasions.

I was actually just pointing out that posting a Putin/Assad apologists work on this thread isn't it.

Just like Max posting someone expelled from Labour for racism who was spreading Kremlin talking points on this thread isn't it either.

I get you guys like the blogs that do the "Jeremy was right" schtik and have a desire to argue with disbelievers on the Internet about them (hence why I suggest Twitter and not me).

I imagine they've got a few years of legs until the nostalgia wanes.

Got me totally wrong mate. I'm not a Corbyn supporter. That doesn't mean I don't think he got a lot of stuff right though. It's called a balanced view. Try it sometime.

Point of information neither me or the author of the article is or has ever been a Corbyn supporter.

The interesting point of the article is that Corbyn has been calling out Putin and other human rights atrocities for over 20 years but MSM reporting would have people believe the opposite.

In contrast the people corrupted by Putin are the Tories and the Labour establishment.

Currywurst has embarrassed himself badly with an Ad Hominen attack on the messenger.
