I am starting to wonder if the booster is as effective at stopping infection as they are claiming. Up until now the amount of people I knew who had caught Covid was in single figures, but in the past week or so everyday I hear of 2 or 3 having it and they have all had the booster. They all seem to only have cold like symptoms, so maybe the booster is keeping serious illness at bay.

Still 'only' 90k new cases reported today, hasn't leapt to 100k plus as was possibly expected.

And that should include the weekend reporting lag. Great stuff. Let's all hit the pub.

Only 5-7 days until we start to see the impact on hospitalisations and deaths too.

My sister in law has it, as does my youngest daughter. Both say they feel like they have a bad cold. One has had booster, one not.

No new restrictions before Christmas, but BoJo doesn't rule them out afterwards.

No football fans from Boxing Day in Scotland for 3 weeks.

There is a little confusion, because the FM announced 500 attendees at outdoor events, but then also said no spectators at football matches.

It's all kicking off on the Radio Clyde Superscrotesboard phone in. The Old Scum fans are bleating about football fans being punished by Nicky.

Luckily the Motherwell CEO called in to inject some sanity into the ongoing farrago of imbecility. He says they should bring forward the winter break. Sounds sensible and Sellik and the Hi Bees are in agreement.

No word from Sevco yet probably because they are trying to work out where to get £10 million to compensate Sports Direct after they went behind their back and cheated on the deal they had for selling Sevco tat.

Interesting that daily infections seem to have plateaued somewhat…
Any ideas on the reason? People not testing before Xmas so they don’t mess up plans? People putting their own restrictions in place to avoid messing up Xmas plans? Or it’s not as transmissible as predicted?

Testing is up 24% in the recent 7 day figures so not just that. Think I recall the boosters are much quicker to take effect, though dont quote me on that. Plus maybe people are taking it more seriously this time.

I thinking of going Col Utd for this exact reason. It’ll be a while before we’re back in grounds.

The Welsh Government made going to work a crime on Tuesday, introducing a £60 fine for anyone unnecessarily travelling to the office.

The Labour administration in Cardiff said the new fixed penalty notice was being introduced to curb the spread of Covid-19 and the omicron variant. But critics pointed out that Welsh people can currently legally still visit a pub, shop or restaurant but effectively be criminalised for going to work.

The union GMB said it would affect "the poorest, most vulnerable workers" while the TUC said it was "at best naïve" to think responsibility is shared.

personally think that'll be more likely that you won't be able to go to that game as there's some sort of circuit breaker from 26th or 27th for a couple of weeks.

106k cases reported today, with deaths and hospitalisations still pretty level.

The full impact on deaths and hospitalisations won't take effect for a good few days still, but you'd expect to start to see things go up by now. Hopefully this is good news.

I'm seeing long lines of people otherwise known as queues outside vax stations round our way which I haven't really seen before. This should help.
