Also, how is the likes of Deliveroo expected to deliver a reasonable return on investment without mass low skill/wage immigration?

Re: Migrants crossing the channel
Its more like what Dunners says- they work for lower wages. Why would someone English shy away from certain jobs? Well if they are paying less than minimum wage I dont blame them. See belowGive it to Jabo wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2024 2:11 pm The argument that the “migrants take our jobs” does not bear out as migrants often end up doing the work that many shy away from such working in abattoirs or hand-picking crops. Also, migrants do not usually need weight loss jabs to get them back in the job market. That said, I do think that if people are here illegally and commit crimes, well, our prisons are full.
There is a caravan park in Bristol full of delvery drivers, people living n awful conditions, many of them have come from as far as Brazil!

Exactly, their business plan would fall apart because they'd have to charge too much for it to be profitable.

Okay - who is most at fault? The dodgy employers or the illegal workers?

The employers. But that doesnt mean people angry about immigration driving down their wages dont have a point.Give it to Jabo wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2024 3:02 pm Okay - who is most at fault? The dodgy employers or the illegal workers?

Re: Migrants crossing the channel
There’s a whole migrant underclass in London, many of whom are illegal immigrants, riding mopeds and highly illegal electric bicycles for a living because the indigenous people are too f*****g lazy or stupid to cook or go and get food for themselves. Get rid of these types of company and most of the poorly paid illegal workers will disappear within weeks

I rarely use it, but evidently there's huge demand there and takeaways getting a lot of trade from it too.

Very much so. The hipsters at number 31 on my road have deliveries at least 3 times a week. Sometimes more.Long slender neck wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2024 9:45 pm I rarely use it, but evidently there's huge demand there and takeaways getting a lot of trade from it too.
