Not much chance for League Two clubs if a Championship club is interested

With Stockport and Grimsby coming up and teams like Doncaster and Gillingham coming down League Two is going to be extremely tough next season . I pray we get our recruitment right this Summer because we can't afford any January style cock ups .

Maybe but what I mean't was they are a bigger club than Solihull so more of a challenge .

Boris J might be available soon on a free transfer.
He has experience at a high level and is a right winger

Who reckons that the squad as it currently stands is good enough to win promotion?

Signings been excellent so far as presumably almost every fan wanted these to re-sign or to join us. Just need a couple of good fresh new faces and we should be pretty solid

Is this the squad that finished mid table last season, minus a couple of people

I think that RW will, with the current squad, get us higher up the league table, maybe into a play off position, but not promotion.
We need some creativity in midfield and I’m not convinced that Harry Smith is up to playing a ‘high pressing’ game which I think Richie favours.
Personally I think that Ruel, Smyth and Drinan will be first choice to begin with.

So we've locked down the team that got us mid table (and many thought would get us relegated at our lowest ebb). Thinking we need 3 signings better than we currently have to have any chance of promotion

I think it would be good enough to get into the play offs but if we want automatic then we do need another two or three good calibre players .

A midfield player who can create chances would top my list. We seem to have a fair number of holding midfielders already.

If the current side had played and got the results they did between March and May from December to end of February we would be a League 1 side next season. I find it incredible that things went so pear shaped - what really happened to us?

Thanks to players re-signing and Archibald returning it's pretty much the same as last season .At the time of our AGM Martin Ling said since Richie Wellens came in , points per game we were top of League 2 . So our squad is OK but we do need those extra two or three new signings if we want to go for automatic promotion .

I have no evidence but I'll always feel there was a falling out between Kenny and the players on the training ground . For example Conor Wood being sent to Boco island only to come back in when Wellens arrived and putting in two or three MOTM performance's. What is certain is something went wrong somewhere .

Under Richie Wellens those same players started playing like a top 3 side . Something went wrong under Kenny. I think we all agree that we still need about another 2 or 3 good signings to get promotion

It's obvious James, Theo and Thompson were going to be extended/signed.
New players will come in too, there's no way Wellens thinks we will be promoted with that midfield. I suspect Smith might go and someone else comes in upfront too.

However its worked, we will probably have a playing squad a man or two bigger than it is right now. Craig Clay will be back (I think his hassle factor will make him a RW player), Coleman may be loaned and Smith could go as easily as stay, but we will be a player or two larger in squad size.

Far from obvious that James and Theo would (re)sign. James is the best right back in League Two and I suspect he could easily play in League one or the Championship, as for Theo there were several clubs interested in him. Granted we were his number one choice but Lincoln could have made it much more dificult for him to leave as he was under contract.
Well done to Lingy for securing Theo, Ruel, Adam and Tom for two more years, he's made mistakes in the past but he's bang on so far this summer.
