He might be lying? He is getting compensation after all. Before you start, the women the other day that everyone on Twitter defended when she had killed her husband, turned out she was a psychopath. Should we only believe someone because they “look vulnerable” ?
Clearly he's lying.
No wait! Yorkshire's own report has already upheld a number of Rafiq's claims already.

A few of these allegations have already been verified by others.
And the point is that by Yorkshire's own admission, the racist comments were happening, but that Rafiq should have taken it on the chin. Not exactly a stretch to imagine that the entire clubs working environment was a mess if that's their stance.

Real basket case of a sport.
Do you reckon cricket has more issues than any other sport? Can’t imagine it’s any different in other ‘middle class‘ sports - rugby, swimming, hockey, horsey stuff will all be the same.

Shame these issues were not raised at the time they occurred. So much time, so much opportunity to sort things out wasted.
Why was that? Maybe time makes them more important. And there’s me thinking the old saying that time is a great healer was true.
Does Compensation heal the hurt? I guess so.

Covering yourself in glory again here - Rafiq reported these issues to YCCC in both 2017 and 2018. Nothing was done. His testimony yesterday sets out why he didn’t report the earlier incidents as a much younger man.
As for your last comment, I can’t be arsed.

Do 2 minutes of reading about the subject. Then realise what utter tripe you've posted here.
Or spend that two minutes whining about how badly treated you are for being called out on posting uninformed bollox. Your call.

Imagine there's all sorts of scandals waiting in those sports, it's not unique to cricket. But rugby has been better at expanding its audience so there's more attention paid to it. Crickets useless administration has shrunk its popularity to the point where it's clubs and institutions are these grubby little fiefdoms for absolute dinosaurs, who then mould new generations in their shape.
All round seems to be the worst run sport. Declining audience, impossible to follow below international level, only watchable if you have an expensive cable package.

Sport is just a continuation of society. Racism will be there in any sport - just like it is in everyday life. And until anyone can take the first step and even acknowledge that they're susceptible to unconscious (let alone conscious) bias and prejudices, there'll be a lot of hand-wringing but no real change. Rafiq has just lifted the veil - there'll be plenty more to follow on this.
Likewise, don't for a moment kid yourself that football is much cleaner. Look at the tiny number of BAME coaches / managers compared to players and ask why? Why are so few Asian kids even entering or progressing at football clubs at any level? I've seen youth coaches dismiss players for apparent ethnic traits before they've even kicked a ball. Black players are viewed as powerful, quick but unintelligent. Asian players as "just not up for it" or "they prefer cricket".

I'm pretty new around here, and I have to admit that, at times, I was almost convinced that some of the dodgy chat in the 'taking the knee' thread was a genuine (if misinformed) reaction to perceived political affiliations or some other tangentially related gripe.
The sh*t in this thread is absolutely shocking.

Deep joy. Can’t wait for the inevitable brain fart on here that’ll excuse the racism he (and others) were subjected to because of his own anti Semitic actions.

I find the whole affair extremely disappointing. Cricket in the UK has always been a great multicultural experience, especially at club level , and the actions of a few , and you have to include Rafiq in this now , will do an enormous amount of harm to the reputation of cricket in the UK.
Does this never ending thirst for dragging up historic stupidity serve any purpose. I’m not sure it does. We should , as we are , concentrate on eliminating offensive behaviour of all types now and in the future. That’s not to say that those involved shouldn’t be investigated, but where will it end.

He did Ronnie , but like the others , only after he had been caught. Very disappointing now. He must have known this new information would surface.
