If the club got rid of the DOF, the number of candidates wouldn suddenly get more appealing im sure
Where do you get your information from about not working under a DoF? JE did and that worked well.

I reckon we are just right for Super Frankie Lampard to resurrect his career!

Totally agree. If a new manager comes in with his own backroom staff( and that is a must) I see no reason that having a DOF will not work. The team manager does not want to get involved with the academy, women’s football, setting up football workshops abroad.
Ling has said so many times he does not want to go back at being a manager and all that involves. Most managers just want to run the first team with their own staff.

Is that the same Mark Cooper, ex manager of FGR who was allegedly involved in a heated verbal exchange with Ross Embleton ?

Evans hates Ling. Even Ling doesn't know why. We went to see the game at Boston years ago when Evans was in charge there. We lost but Evans refused a handshake, pushed past Ling and strode off. Ling said afterwards that he couldn't think of anything he could have done to Evans to be shoved aside like that. Don't think Evans is a get over things sort of bloke whatever his grievance was then, and probably Ling couldn't/wouldn't work with him anyway. NOT Slade please. He's done nothing since leaving us. Someone who's achieved in our division or League 1.

I would be happy with Daryl McMahon. He has a decent win % and has done well at Dagenham. He will also know the NL which could be a source of players. I would much prefer to get players on the up from lower down than players from higher up going down. Look how well Ebou Adams and Marvin Ekpitita have done Mind you Super Kevin wasn't so bad

Mods, why don't you present a case for members of this board to form a management committee. We all know exactly what is wrong with a team and how to put it right. I will be happy to help, being retired I can do a couple of days (will combine with my daily exercise, a walk around the training ground + a game of walking football). And I will enjoy regular trips out.

For those working, a zoom call on a Thursday evening should do the trick

Only snag, we wont be able to discuss the matches on here

Can see the Cowley's coming into it now. They ballsed up getting Portsmouth into the play offs and couldn't cut it at Huddersfield, think we are more their level.

Paul Tisdale always used to be the name mentioned in the past. Haven't heard his name this time.

Well I guess we have now :D
I think the most important thing is what players any manager can attract and the contacts he has to maybe bring in some
U/23s from PL clubs.

I’d be very happy with Tisdale, always thought he’d be a decent fit for us, got three promotions on his CV, I’m surprised he isn’t shorter odds. Bristol Rovers may not have been a recent success, but given where they ended up under Joey Barton I suspect it’s a wider problem there than the manager.

Jackett would be a great choice too, whether he’d come is another thing, drop to L2, L2 wages, may depend on other offers too, club ownership/ stability itself and locale would probably tick the box.
