German beer is a different product compared to real ale.
Back British. Even if it’s inferior. Am I getting the brexit stuff right?
No, drink and eat what you want. German beer is a different product . Good stuff, most brewed without chemicals. German Rye and Bratwursts better than Warburton and Hecks. You can still buy all the EU products despite the scaremongering that you cannot. My Polish staff said products in their favourite Sklep in Leytonstone are still available since Brexit with many items cheaper. Beer prices often go up , especially in pubs. Since lockdown many beers very cheap., bought McEwens Champion award winning premium ale 7.3% for £1.50 . Majestic beers are all about 1.50 each. Lots deals major supermarkets.
Great, british farmers not supported when they need it most growing ingredients for beer. hope youre proud.

I love real ale but also enjoy pils & wheat beers. German pils & wheat beers are far superior to their UK equivalents

The EU has invoked Article 16 of the Northern Ireland protocol to block exports of the vaccine from the EU via Ireland.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-55864442

Condemned by most UK parties.

Won't actually affect the supply of vaccine into NI as it comes from mainland UK but an incredible move given all that's been said over the past few months.

As long as you have a roof above your head, are warm , can feed and cloth yourself and those dependent on you, have your health, you are the ‘wealthiest’ person around.

Like I say, I do not boast.

No, the unelected Bureaucrats. If I meant the MEP’s I would have said.

So, you mean the European Commission then - effectively the civil servants. The commission can only propose legislation, it's the elected council that decide whether to approve it or not.

Do you have the same issue with civil servants in this country?

Not as far as I know, but we will see!
There was an expert on this topic on The Jeremy Vine show on Radio 2 today. You will be hit with a 20% charge for import duty and VAT as far as I could make out
I will post on here what actually happens. Looking forward to the delivery and clarity on the situation.
Arrived on time at no extra cost. I thought booze, fags and perfume were charged VAT irrespective of value, but there you go.

At least they didn't have to fight their way through a maze of red tape.

On the upside there is now an abundance of shellfish available throughout Scotchlandshire because of the lack of access to European markets that were inexplicably there on 31 December but vanished into thin air the next day.

As a result of this abundance I'm having whelks and porridge for breakfast and I'm halfway through my second bowl.

According to the story linked "Mr Samways is considering recruiting a new employee to tackle the extra forms, which take until 13:00 to complete. That would cost the firm £30,000-£40,000 per year."

At least someone who would otherwise have been on the dole sees a benefit, and seems like a good salary, even generous seeing as it's just form filling and possibly part time.

Every cloud...

True enough. The UK will benefit from an increase in form fillers, pencil pushers and bureaucrats. We are well on the way to creating a dynamic entrepreneurial economy.

A lot of this stuff is a product of a rushed deal. You can sell food into the EU, but you can't export them in water or soil for example as this wasn't negotiated, so no export of shellfish or plants. That kind of story is getting reported across endless small industries and does add up to quite a lot of businesses looking at collapsing.
