Why? I'm at work as are millions of others and we are not being tested
And how do you feel about that ?

As regards the game I remember club saying the youth team are a separate bubble so if the game could be agreed to switch to Spurs then let them play it? For £100k+ even if they concede 15 goals it's worth playing.

Spurs would get the £100k+ off Sky then, not Orient as Spurs would be host club?
Better that than having to pay their costs and chances are they'd either share with us or donate part / whole to JE3

What costs?

Game called off today - Spurs have no costs that fall to be reimbursed. The only costs on the day would be their travel costs. What's 25 zones 2-6 travelcards cost?

Here is rule 5.8

5.8 The Club failing to fulfil its fixture shall be liable to pay compensation for any expenses actually incurred by the opposing Club as a direct result of the failure. The amount of compensation will be at the discretion of the Management Committee who will consider each such case on its merits. The Management Committee may refer the amount of compensation to be paid to a Disciplinary Commission appointed under Rule 24 dealing with the misconduct by the Club failing to fulfil its fixture.

The mind boggles as what the expenses could have been if we had drawn Newcastle or Liverpool or Manchester City/United etc. The match has still to be officially called off so imagine those clubs would already have spent considerable money to get to Brisbane Road tomorrow.

Play the youth team, separate bubble apparently. Can’t turn down £150k in tv money regardless of what the final score is. The result is of secondary importance at the moment (then again the whole of sport is, but hey ho the powers that be wanted everyone to carry on with it during a pandemic , so here we are.)

Maybe the integrity of the competition will then match that of the organisation that runs it 🤷🏼‍♂️
Where are we going to play the tie, WHL?
Brisbane Rd and our training ground are closed atm
Yes, this was suggested about 10 posts ago......

Sorry I missed that, didn't read what others had said earlier, apologies.

Surely its split 50/50 in a cup tie?

And we’d be liable for the cost. How much is it to hire WHL for an evening?

One thing is for sure, we won't be playing any games for 10 days and the Mansfield team and staff will need to isolate until they get tested.

How on earth can the EFL allow football to continue after this news?

There’s no way that Orient are the only team in League 2 with infected players. It just so happens that we are due to play a PL team who paid for the squad to be tested.

If the EFl had even a shred of integrity they would pay for all squads in at least League 2 to be tested.

They won’t because they know that if they did all footbal in League 2 (and eventually the leagues above) would grind to halt as it doesn’t take a genius to predict that loads of players are infected.

Pre-booked coach travel, medical staff / physios? Covid tests?

Make the most of whatever football is on at the moment as I reckon it won't be for much longer, especially at lower league level.

You're right. This could be the most Orient thing to ever happen to Orient ever.

Read the rules which state what expenses are allowed.

spurs would have to pa physios, covid tests etc anyway. The only cost is the travel and even that is very limited to an amount per mile

Is Sky TV a live streaming service?

Everyone is very forgiving here. What are the costs of Covid testing? I can’t imagine it’s huge amounts and even if not a full test a temperature test would show a fever and it’s not rocket science that if a few have the same thing a red flag should have gone up before allowing them to play or be involved Saturday. Ross said some of the players have been sick. If some had a temperature last week then allowing them to play Mansfield is really really not good.

Spen666 It's the only mention of broadcasting in the rules that I could find. But remember this is the EFL who don't seem to be able to think ahead or plan for ALL eventualities

Normally when a club fails to fulfil a fixture they are in some way responsible but in this instance it is very much out of their hands and common sense should be applied to ensure no costs are suffered. If not I can see a lot of compensation being paid out in the coming weeks.

How long can this virus be incubating before being picked up by a test? Could this have been picked up travelling for the game at Oldham last week?

The other thing with this were we the only other Prem vs. lower league draw in the round? Either Spurs had the only foresight of the entire football league or we've been exceptionally unlucky (or worse exceptionally incompetent) to be the only club with cases.

Either way the club will be in the headlines for a while one way or another.

Wouldn't have done Dele Alli's PSG hopes any good if he got schooled by 39 y/o Jobi McAnuff 😜
