Good day for Essex today, let's hope they can turn the advantage into a win.

Good innings from Browne, Lawrence, Westley and Bopara at last.

Yep, got the expected victory but so did Somerset. Essex are in good form though and plenty of matches left.

It may well come down to the last match, which just happens to be Somerset v Essex at Taunton.

"In May 2018, ECB launched the South Asian Action Plan to engage more effectively with South Asian communities at every level of the game. It focused on 11 priorities spanning Recreational Cricket, Talent Development & Retention, Attendance, Administration, and Culture & Facilities. The plan was implemented to address several key gaps including a lack of opportunities for the South Asian community to engage with cricket, removing the barriers to participation and developing stronger relationships between stakeholders across cricket and the community."
Hardly necessary. Over half of the youth players playing at clubs in Essex are from South Asia looking at the names on the scorecards.
They should be getting in to local schools and engaging with everyone if they want more kids taking up cricket.
There are more Asians than those from Caribbean descent playing junior cricket now.

Do you know what date that game is? I might just have to get myself down there for that one.

Looking like another victory within 3 days. I started this thread by complaining about another defeat since then the Essex players have shoved that down my throat with sooooo many wins. Long may it continue

Cook went through a really good spell, but form dropped off a bit now. Bopari form is good and Essex have a really good bowling line up, Siddle ( always rated him when playing for Australia ) a really good overseas signing and Harmer, wow what a spin bowler he is !!

I was at Chelmsford yesterday and Siddle was spot on in all of his spells. Cook took two great slip catches. He was dropped on 0 when batting and didn't look comfortable at all, Bopara was missing through illness.

Siddle is a really good team player. A wholehearted player who gets on well with his Essex team mates and what a player to have around the young Essex bowlers, to pass on his great experience of seam bowling techniques. Siddle always bowled well in England when playing for the Australian test team.

Harmer would be in the SA national side if it wasnβt for the quota system there. But their loss is our gain. And Zampa to come for the T20

Been a strong critic of Westley but delighted to see him getting some runs. Got stumped in the 2nd innings but the moment of madness glossed over a confident innings. Lack of batting points could cost us the title.
