Not sure anyone is really getting too excited, just wondering if some credit might be due. Equally with your post I'd agree getting over the line is easier when they have been on loan but Ling and Embleton brought him here on loan too. They've done well in this scenario, no disgrace in admitting it.

The point you make is exactly right, they brought him in on loan too. Credit where it’s due and in this instance it very much is due.

As for getting excited. I’m pretty damn pleased we got him. His contribution whilst on loan was good and if he continues in the same manner then at our level he is a really good signing.

Credit is due to Ling/Embleton for making it happen and the Board for putting their hands in their pockets to pay for it.

Let's have it right. We have been crying out for a midfielder of his ilk for a long time, it took Ling until January to sort that out. Now somehow (against all the odds) we've managed to sign him on a permanent deal. He's given contracts to people who don't deserve them. He bollocksed up the manager's job last season. He left the squad completely unbalanced at the start of last season. He's argued with and belittled fans in a Q&A.

Forgive me for not being completely enamoured by this monumental achievement. Like I said, let's wait until the end of the window and see what state the club is in. A new starting quality CB and RB are an absolute must now.

Really? They were paying his wages last season and signed him on a free

Plenty of other clubs after him.

While there may not have been a fee for him because he was out of contract, do you not understand that we would have had to pay him and his agent a signing on fee. Nothing is ever free.

The fact you concede that we've signed him against all odds is another reason that credit is due for this signing. Nobody is asking for credit to be given for the poor contract extensions etc, or what the squad will look like later this summer just this transaction given that all are unanimous that this is a very good signing. Giving that credit doesn't mean we can't have an opinion about the quality of future signings.

I was being sarcastic. The signing was on a plate.

I'm not sure what's more funny - those refusing to acknowledge this is a good signing for the club, or those insisting everyone bow down before Lord Ling and Emperor Embleton and marvel at their magnificence.

We've signed a good player. It's what they're paid to do. Let's go and sign 3 or 4 more good players, please.

Typical of Ling to screw up the signing so much he only signed 2 years and not 3. Makes me sick.

Not really Top. Where is the evidence for that?

Just be thankful that in the current climate we got him.
Cisse had said so, Embleton said so, interest reported in player by Journo's of other clubs. Still not going to give a Ling and the club some credit then?
Credit for what? Managing to sign a bloke that was on loan at the club last season? Lets see where the squad is come the end of the transfer window before we get too excited.
Poor comment. Negative.

I heard we're paying him £3,000 per week! That's laughable.

That money should have been spent on Ruel. :x

I totally agree we need a RB and CB . Last season I thought Marsh was streets ahead of both Ling and Judd in the right back position

If it was a team in league 1 or above then ‘Orient can’t compete with that. Hopefully we have a plan B’. If Orient lost out to a no mark team in league 2 then questions would have to be asked because the signing was on a plate.

I don't think anyone is insisting everyone bows down before Lord Ling or anything remotely approaching that.

People are just asking certain boarders who they think should get the credit for this signing that they are so happy with since those specific boarders are quick to air their dislike of certain club staff at other times. The fact they are squirming so much instead of just saying who they credit for the signing tells you everything you need to know.

Those fans had been banging on about the same things on the
Orient twitter page slagging the guy for months.

Some of them deserve to be belittled & argued with .

I cant see a single post thats moaning about signing Cisse.
Only you, & a few like you on here, could turn a happy thread into conflict between Orient supporters
