That is a shame. I watched stream, but could have done with a walk down this evening. If crowds are sub 2,000 maybe they will go down the list of ex-half season ticket holders and let me have two together. We can throw balls back from the east stand :-)Ronnie Hotdogs wrote: ↑Tue Dec 08, 2020 11:39 pmIt looked really low, that doesn’t surprise me.
Shame they didn’t open it up to non season ticket holders.

Can imagine the league games will be the full 2000. If We’re only getting 600 each game the club might need to reconsider.

I applied in the ballot and never heard nothing from the club! Only 547 people in the ground and I got a blank! #joke

I’d be very surprised if the full 2000 go on many occasions at present. So many people not wanting to go until vaccinations are much more advanced but I have spoken with a number of people who have just said “not this season”.

Re: Fans in Grounds.
Agree Omygawd, and for those like myself some distance away, while the games continue to be streamed I’m more than happy as it saves me travel time and cost and I get to see every EFL match I want.
The club are getting more money out of me through the tenner streaming service than they would through gate receipts, due to the time factor limiting my attendance, so I do wonder if some form of streaming service would be of benefit to clubs going forwards. The challenge would be to pitch it at the right level which recognises the distance of some fans, so it would have to be a balance of encouraging fans to the ground by some form of streaming limitation based on geography. I’d still want to physically attend some games anyway, nothing like a day out and being there, but maybe something along the lines of attend one and get to stream so many others. Would need a lot of thinking through, but opportunity there for the EFL, technology exists to do it though.

We should ask them how we can go to the WC and through the refreshment queue and back to ones seat expediently.Top of the JES wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2020 11:20 pm The EFL are to work at both Charlton Athletic and Cambridge United with crowd dynamics specialists Movement Strategies, aim is to work out a safe way of getting crowds back into (and out of) EFL grounds and to work out what % of capacity is deemed safe to accomodate sociallty distanced attendances.
Positive signs that football may resume in September/October with at least some fans in grounds.

6 around a table in a pub garden or individual at separate tables inside a pub vastly different from ‘thousands socially distancing?’Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Sun Jul 12, 2020 10:29 am Not sure why the government are happy for groups of people to sit outside and inside pubs and restaurants but not a few thousand a few seats apart. It is the transition inside the ground , WC’s that is the problem I think.

I suspect Saturday games will get the full 2,000, but midweek games won’t. Can’t imagine getting many for Forest Green on Tuesday 26th January. No issue for me regarding public transport as I can walk or cycle to the ground. Just haven’t got a season ticket.

Re: Fans in Grounds.
I don’t think too many fans live locally. Also I see no good reason to restrict geographically as some of the older local Os fans who can’t easily get to the ground would buy a stream. Or in the case of my dad expect me to buy it for him. Another reason to not restrict it is that you just have people watching something else. Last night I watched Orient on the stream, but had it not been available I would have watched Champions League instead. Even if the 3pm blackout was in place, I would be watching the other 12.30am game I recorded earlier or rugby or GAA.EastDerehamO wrote: ↑Wed Dec 09, 2020 8:16 am The challenge would be to pitch it at the right level which recognises the distance of some fans, so it would have to be a balance of encouraging fans to the ground by some form of streaming limitation based on geography. As late as that? From what I read it could be Friday to stop people going out at the weekend.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Wed Dec 09, 2020 10:15 am On Dec 16th, London will move to tier 3, and all this thread will overnight, become irrelevant

Yes of course it is, in fact your less likely to catch covid outside than in a crowded indoor venue. Crack on and enjoy life whilst ensuring you take adequate precautions.

When you are walking outside I would think the chances of you catching it are quite slim.

Re: Fans in Grounds.
The clubs, EFL, FA etc. need to get away from this restrictive mindset and just put the streams out there for all. No more broadcast blackouts, no geo restrictions just it available. We're not talking elite level where the big money is either, let's face it no-one really cares about L1 & L2 football outside of the club's themselves so there's hardly a big money market there for TV rights.RientO wrote: ↑Wed Dec 09, 2020 10:02 amI don’t think too many fans live locally. Those who want to watch live in the ground will still make the effort to go, those who want to watch from home will still be supporting the club and in fact it frees up space in the ground for more fans and / or social distancing measures to be effective.
