Assuming Ruel does end up going again you have to wonder what point there is running the academy. All that development and he may end up leaving after what 10 games or so? Same for Alzate, Dalby etc.
We either get peanuts in compensation or a minimal fee set just above that, which doesn't even pay for the cost of coaching him for all those years to get to the point of being first-team ready.
Compare that to signing a young pro...
Ekpiteta - small fee, two full seasons
Bonne - free, two full seasons plus a decent fee
Especially in the current climate you have to wonder if there's any value in it aside from maintaining the whole "family club" / "community club" charade. Rather see us being vultures to smaller clubs in NL, basically doing a Peterborough but a level below.
Careful - Doesn't that mean Ling was doing a good job with those two signings he made?

Koroma. Could and should have gone for a lot more than he did.
Koroma came through before Ling was involved.
Youre blaming Ling for Koroma choosing to triple his wages ?
What kind of fool are you who thinks a young kid does not deserve
An opportunity to improve his life financially ?
I see you're still as stupid as you were last time I was on here. Learn to read.
Ling was DoF for 2 years whilst Koroma was there and Koroma signed a new contract in 2018. I'm blaming Ling for not securing the club a better fee for Koroma when he left. I have no problem with Koroma earning more money elsewhere.
If you had used better punctuation in your original claim about ling then id say ok, but the sentence suggested
Ling was here when joshy 1st played.
I think youll find he was here under the Italian.
Aa for a better fee
That deal remains undisclosed information.

The NL ones he openly said some would be hits some would be misses due to the small amount of time they had to hire, did well to end up with NL top scorer out of that.
It was the next window that was an utter failure getting Gorman (in place of Adams) and Alabi. Ended up winning the title in spite of, rather than because of those choices. To think they had plenty of time to scout those as well, signing an injured player was ridiculous.
January windows have oddly been more successful, at odds with Orient of the 90's / 00's where we used to do very little business there. Granted there's been some duds but JMD, Brophy, Cissé etc have all contributed.
Angol and Wilkinson currently heading towards the flop bin at present but I think that's down to the current manager and playing style as much as the players themselves.

Think you're being harsh there - JE openly said he was happy with the squad that he had at the time, IMO signing new players isn't always the way forward if you have a good group already and only a few things need a bit of tweaking as JE and the results he got overall in early 2018 proved. Having said that, having a good manager also helps.
Gorman did his job as a squad player for me, he more than played his part in the NL title winning season. Alabi was a flop, can't argue with that.
Angol and Wilkinson have both been medicore, but both have also suffered with injuries so next season for them will be make or break.

no loyalty in football except for the fans
if he gets a better offer and wants to leave no problems jog on and move forward
there will be hundreds of players begging for a contract
