So see if you can answer this, should Hedley resign? Simple question.
No, but should be reprimanded as regardless of the facts about government incompetence, it does not do his position any good to articulate this view in public.
Not a sacking offence though.

If a political leader resigned every time they said something hateful we'd have very few politicians left. I mean how many groups of people has Boris offended with his racist filth? Actually that's a good point... when was the last time a Tory had to resign (and stayed resigned for more than five minutes) after saying something disgusting?
I also think its utter moral hypocrisy to find Hedley's comments beyond the pale when we live in a world where this Tory government are responsible for such misery. If you find Steve Hedley's comments worthy of resignation then what punishment should we demanding of Tories who voted for IDS welfare reforms which have lead to such appalling suffering and death. In other words get your priorities straight!

What utter rubbish. For a start when did a Tory last day they would have a party when someone died? IDS reforms were long overdue, one system replacing several. Appealing differing and death? Get real.
Now try to get back to football talk.

What right do you have to abuse people you don't agree with? You lose an argument and resort to name calling. Grow up.

I didn't lose the argument, we didn't have one. For a brief moment I seriously considered gathering together some links to highlight your monumental wrongness and then I thought, f*ck it. What's the point? You're not going to read them. You're not going to change your opinion. You and your fellow right wing nut jobs have got that gamblers feeling, you know the one where they're already neck deep in sh*t so why stop doing the indefensible now? Might as well keep going.

Funny you should that, surprise, surprise. What about the labour mayor who was kicked out the labour party and the law firm she works for sacked her. Hedleys comments are just as bad if not worse. He should be sacked, but let's see how his investigation goes following his suspension first.

Do either of you have any experience of welfare or its procedures? I'm guessing very much not given your monumental complacency about the very real death and destruction wrought on the most vulnerable in our society. Do you know anyone that has died after being declared fit for work? Do you know anyone who killed themselves as a result of the stress and humiliation of being treated like a peace of meat by their assessors? Do you know anyone who despite being completely unable to care for themselves was deprived of funding to access care? Again, I'm going to take it that the answer is no. Don't spout your vile nonsense when you know absolutely nothing of which you speak. The welfare reforms were a human catastrophe that deliberately targeted the most vulnerable people. I've seen too many die and have breakdowns to be called an extremist by the likes of you.

If my assumptions are wrong then you should bloody well know better! Even if your experience was better than most you should still have the common decency to sympathise with those that weren't as lucky as you. If you are, as you appear to be, defending the Tories and their welfare reforms then you should be thoroughly ashamed of yourself.

Yes, what is nasty is the person drawing attention to government policy that has resulted in the needless deaths of the most vulnerable not the policy and its pathological defenders. Seriously check your moral compass, its faulty.

I think I've just reached a point where I'm too old and life's too short to play these silly games where we all pretend that when poor people die what's called for is polite and civil conversation where nothing ever changes. Screw that. This government is morally abhorrent and I'm going to say so. People that support this government are equally morally abhorrent.

At the same time you should check your own. No need to lash out at anyone against you. Its a discussion not a fight - and don't use the topic in question to justify your attitude.

No they're not. Faced with overwhelming evidence that this government has royally f*cked up so many Tories just seem to be happy to remain "true blue" and blame any criticism of the government as just "sour grapes", typical left wingers etc etc. Try engaging brain, look at all the evidence and then come back and enlighten us just how the government has done a stirling job.
