And the public sector needs money from the tax payers and money making private industry to fund its expenditure, China and Russia found out that lesson and now even North Korea is turning a blind eye to small time private enterprise.

Having worked in both private and public sector jobs, vast difference and a lot of waste and inefficiency compared to the private sector who have no one to bank roll them if they become uncompetitive.

Enjoyed this. Just another video/document that confirms what a truly stupid thing, leaving the EU is, and what idiots the people who forced this upon us are.
If only those who voted leave could suffer whats to come in the five years following Dec 31st 2020, and those of us who rejected it could carry on benefiting from being in the EU
Just shows how stupid the average brexiteer is, to praise this new passport, which takes away a plethora of rights/advantages from us, over the old passport which gives us so much more freedoms and rights

The only people going on about the colour of the passport etc are leavers.

Like many other remainers, soon move onto the insults etc. Many remainers are REALLY hoping that leaving the EU will be bad for the uk and will be really annoyed if in 5 years time, things are ok and looking up. Of course things will take time to settle down but back in 1975 I and many others were told we were voting purely for a trading agreement with the then Common Market, not to be absorbed into a political union as it is rapidly turning out to be. The UK is an old established democracy and is not an ex communist Eastern European country used to being run by dictatorships. Countries like those may well be better off removing power from their corrupt governments and handing power over to the EU to govern them, no we are quite capable of running our own country without having the EU to tell us how to do it, capable of making our own laws and governing ourselves and setting our own trading agreements with the rest of the world.

If we're going to make massive generalisations about sneery elite metropolitan remainers, then the flip side to that is that the right has ideologically thinned to the point that there isn't really such a thing as the 'intellectual right' anymore. Instead you're getting an alliance of power obsessives (Johnson, Patel, Trump, take your pick of European populists) and pseudo-boffins believing in crackpot nonsense (Bannon, Cummings, whatever eugenicist the Tories decide to hire this week).
They are supported by a voting base of anti-politics, anti-everything really, other than some vague notion that the nation state must have as much power as possible, but that same nation state must have all of its capacity to function properly denuded because it has become captured by the metropolitan elite, who are omnipotent, omnipresent and intentionally/accidentally destroying the fabric of the British life. How much you believe that depends how wildly conspiratorial you get. Some of the posters on here are a perfect example of the loons that watch batshit Youtube conspiracy videos completely uncritically, all whilst whining about media bias in a country where the right pretty much dominates the print media landscape, in turn dominating the TV/internet media agenda.
Once the Tories have hacked away, in the name of sovereignty, at the BBC, civil service, universities, local government, NHS, education system, welfare system, immigration system, f*ck business, the actual sh*tting United Kingdom- what exactly is left of the country? What are we saving? It seems like its the right to wind up lefties and liberals, more than anything.
I don't see a new settlement being proposed that deals with any of the underlying issues the country faces, other than the odd dollop of funding for a couple of choice causes. We retain the most centralised power structure of any western democracy, a voting system designed for the 19th century, an unelected HoL, extreme regional disparities of earning and asset potential, incredibly low productivity and the most punitive, hateful attitude towards migrant and low earners conceivable. The way that EU citizens will be treated will make Windrush look like a minor blip.

And you have people cheering this on like its a triumph.

Which is why thank God, we are given the free choice to vote out whatever government is in power, unlike being in a Communist Country or in the case in question the EU, something that if you are a member of, you are locked into a system that is without any real options to change or remove from control and power as the EU is increasingly doing so.

Do we? Well over half the country rejected the government of the last 10 years. Over half voted for parties that backed remain and/or a second referendum. The outcome from this was a big majority. FPTP is sham democracy, even your boy Farage recognises this. And without proper balances - whether that is constitutional protection for the courts or meaningful devolution outside of the home nations - it is an unbalanced democracy.

I don't think many remainers are hoping it's going to be really bad - anymore than they're hoping that Orient lose so many matches that Ross gets the boot. Most sensible people want both to be successful, but there's very little reason to think that they will be.
Being in the EU (whether you agree with it or not) made trading with EU partners easy - it was the same setup for any member country, and the EU made deals with 3rd party counties for the benefit of all. Now we're hoping that the UK - with no history of making bilateral trade agreements - and a long history of f*cking up big important projects - is suddenly going to replace all of that, by December 31.

Apologies for mentioning the colour of the passport on the thread entitled "The Blue Passport".
My point is that in order to negotiate a decent trade agreement you need decent trade negotiators. Since we haven't done any of that in the last 40 years, there's unlikely to be a lot of expertise knocking about.
