Re: Webb sacked
It was at full time, and if Teague had witnessed the row, he might not have sacked Webb - who shares Teague's higher expectations for the team.

Re: Webb sacked
One things for certain...we ( the fans) will never get to know what happened ( if anything), as the club are not as forthcoming, as some fans think they are.
It will be swept under the carpet, and after a little time, will all be forgotten
Rumour and counter rumour, is the best we're going to get guys

Re: Webb sacked
I trust my source on this.
And good question about Ling. One might also ask why Embleton was almost entirely silent throughout the row. Or what it was that caused Webb to blow his top.
I'm sure some of you will reach a similar conclusion to me.

If a guy has been sacked how is that sweeping it under the carpet?ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 3:54 pm One things for certain...we ( the fans) will never get to know what happened ( if anything), as the club are not as forthcoming, as some fans think they are.

A breach of discipline is a breach of discipline and that's all we should be told, not every detail of why.

There's still been no announcement from the club, has there? It's been nearly a week since the incident.Smendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 4:14 pmIf a guy has been sacked how is that sweeping it under the carpet?ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 3:54 pm One things for certain...we ( the fans) will never get to know what happened ( if anything), as the club are not as forthcoming, as some fans think they are.

Obvs they'll have to say something eventually, unless Webb miraculously re-appears on the touchline - but in the circumstances, that seems unlikely to happen while Ling & Embleton are still around.

Possibly legalities/internal HR process being sorted and the announcement will be from when that's sorted.OyinbO wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 4:31 pmThere's still been no announcement from the club, has there? Re: Webb sacked
If what is suggested happened, he would be under a disciplinary process which has a right of appeal, either the process is still ongoing or the lawyers are working on the NDA.
One or other is most likely if this rumour is true.

Re: Webb sacked
Is this not the same DoF who said he has little to nothing to do with the playing side and Embleton managing the team? Hmmmm...

Re: Webb sacked
The majority of Os fans watching that game on the night in question, were also displeased after that awful first half display against Northampton.North Stand Dave wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 2:15 pm Was told Ross & Webb had an argument at half time on Tuesday in front of the players. Ling stepped in & then Webb had an argument with him.
Ling reported all this to Kent & he sacked him there & then, so sounds like he will be doing some gardening but not on the clubs terms.

Interesting turn of phrase, all things considered...North Stand Dave wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2020 8:05 pm I have heard from my source he had a bust up with Matt Harold & Ling had to step in (not sure if that was Martin or Sam) ?
Also heard a bit of back stabbing again not sure if that was the board thing mentioned in a previous post.

Re: Webb sacked
Maybe Ling saw what was building up between two of his employees during the first half and decided he'd better be in the vicinity in case it kicked off ? (I don't know, I was 450 miles away - but it's not entirely beyond the pale that the DoF might head into the dressing room in such circumstances, is it?)
This should not be interpreted as a defence of the DoF position - I don't think it's doing LOFC any favours now.

Re: Webb sacked
Bizarre if true. People square up week in week out in changing rooms. You forget it and are best mates at training on a Monday. Unless what was said was completely out of line.
Either way, is Ling the ‘experienced number 2’ Ross now has? He should be nowhere near the dressing room during or immediately after the game. Shades of Bullshitti.
