No surprises there, he can’t attract any decent players and who can blame any potential decent players with him in charge !

We have 10 players per position on a list.
We needed players prior to the window opening.
And today we’ve brought in a keeper who has not played for a long time and a midfielder on the same basis. Where are the others they are after? The keeper was a reaction from an long term injury so only the midfielder so far, shambles is I think only slightly touches where we find ourselves.

Let’s pray we don’t pay the ultimate price for it and get ourselves relegated

Apparently he was fully fit and injury free so he wasn't for us.
And he has played for Gills boss Steve Evans before and we don't want to get in players that would involve paying a fee.
Correct. Paying a fee would mean breaking the budget and its probably better just to get relegated AGAIN rather than do that.
Club is done for if we get relegated again, if the books don't balance with full league TV money and record ST sales we're in big trouble back in tinpot town with fans deserting and Hearn's rent only getting more expensive.
Remember the academy was only a few months from closing and that was with getting back to EFL within 2 seasons. Breaking the bank to stay up this season is worth every penny.

Totally agree and what an insult to Justin's memory if we end up back in the National League.

I don't think people disliked Palmer per se, just that he was not the standard of striker required for team going for L2 promotion at the time. I still don't think he is, Crawley is about his standard.
He is better than Harrold, but that is because of age, if Harrold was 10 years younger he would be better.
He was a trier but just didn't have the ability. Alabi was several degrees worse than Palmer yet people still liked him.
The only real undeserved criticism I have seen were the foreign lads under Beelzebub, and players that might be a bit lazy like Gnanduillet (who was disliked worse than Palmer, because he had a go back at the crowd).

Especially at a club like The O's which does so much for diversity & integration. Completely unnecessary but expected from an attention seeker like Wumble.

If what Boarders have said is correct then there is about four players who have turned us down . Not very encouraging for the rest of the window

Yeah it’s not like Ross the boss has not been saying he expects players in the last two weeks, now we are inside the last week are we really going to get anyone in?

Akinde is a proven goalscorer but not a workaholic up front like Bonne was. Problem is that with the way the team is set up at present, even Jimmy Greaves would have struggled to score many goals ! If you want strikers to score, they have to have the ball given to them in space in the right areas of the pitch, decent crosses with supporting players around them to play off, non of this applies to the Os at present, especially if you play the one striker up front system that Ross seems to favour at present.
I wont miss Akinde. As Sid says, he doesn't work very hard and this season, hasn't got that many goals or assists.
I would prefer someone like Ironside at Macclesfield. Strong and works hard at unsettling defenses - something we have lacked since Bonne went
Well, if his foil did the running and hard work, and he did the scoring, who would be complaining?
The subject of John Akinde playing for Leyton Orient is now all past history and irrelevant. It will be interesting to see how he gets on for the rest of the season with his new club Gillingham.
