I’m going to ask you in a civil manner, are your threats genuine or are you just having a joke?
I’ll take a non-direct response to this as the former and will pass on my concerns to the mod of this board.

You forget what Ling did when we were taken over. He had to put a team together in a matter of 3 weeks. Ok Steve Davis was not a good signing but Justin was given the reigns and ML did not inter fear with his decisions . This season was never Going to be be as good as the last after what happened. However we have to move on after Justin and this has not happened to date.We are in a transition period where we don’t appear to know which way to turn. Getting rid of ML is not the answer.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Sat Dec 28, 2019 12:35 pm Ling is a massive problem. He has far too much power.... The board dote on his every word.
Manager's in general will not come to a place, where they have a dof 'over' them. They want to be their own man, making all the football decisions.
The club needs restructuring IMO. Ling to leave, and an experienced manager brought in to make all football decisions.

I don't know that anyone is forgetting that, but he can't keep dining out on that forever.moonwalk19 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2019 8:06 amYou forget what Ling did when we were taken over. Does anyone on here believe that Ling doesn't have a massive "influence", on both the team picked for a match, & the tactics used?

Yes, mainly as I'm not paranoid about him. No doubt he offers advice but not "massive influence".ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2019 11:21 am Does anyone on here believe that Ling doesn't have a massive "influence", on both the team picked for a match, & the tactics used?
Re: Proper experienced Manager urgently needed.
Didn't the club say where there was a conflict of interest he would step back on playing matters?
But indirectly, you could say he has an influence. He built two very good teams in his time here (2005/2006 and 2007/2008) but ultimately his lack of flexibility tactics-wise cost him in the end, although at its best it produced some successful football which was good to watch.
Ross pretty much knows what Ling likes to see and what he doesn't. If we turned into long-ball hoof merchants or had people gegenpressing in packs at the expense of position (not that we have the players to do that anyway) you can be sure it won't be appreciated. Since taking back over as caretaker he has one win in five on a relatively kind run of games (four of them at home).
His position is still up in the air, and I'd reckon whether his football philosophy is in line with Ling's could swing the decision either way if results are neither too good or too bad to provide an obvious answer. After all, that was how Ling himself described his job when he first came in.

He has been quoted as to say he does not want to get involved in team selection or tactics. He does not want to return to the days worrying about team issues that obviously caused his mental breakdown years agoComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2019 11:21 am Does anyone on here believe that Ling doesn't have a massive "influence", on both the team picked for a match, & the tactics used?

Spot on, we need people to deliver for today’s football, not someone that had some success years ago.o-no wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2019 9:38 amI don't know that anyone is forgetting that, but he can't keep dining out on that forever.moonwalk19 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2019 8:06 amYou forget what Ling did when we were taken over. Ling is not needed and is well past his sell by date.

He doesn't have to get 'involved' in order to put his spoke in about player and management issues.moonwalk19 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2019 12:34 pmHe has been quoted as to say he does not want to get involved in team selection or tactics. Re: Proper experienced Manager urgently needed.
Question then - who decided to bring Alabi back into the squad... Embleton only just figuring out a brand new role or Ling?moonwalk19 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2019 12:34 pmHe has been quoted as to say he does not want to get involved in team selection or tactics. Either the DoF is far more involved in the playing side than he makes out e.g. deciding on signings and so on or it's a glorified academy role as per his response in the Q&A, in which case the role would be better off being renamed as such to remove one of the perceived barriers to experienced managers applying.

After today’s match tactics from Embleton he has to publicly state that he does not want the job and a proven, experienced Manager has to be brought in before the transfer window opens.

Yup. It was a proper mess out there today. How can he manage to make a 5-man midfield completely invisible? It’s just nonsense.PoundhillO wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2019 5:09 pm After today’s match tactics from Embleton he has to publicly state that he does not want the job and a proven, experienced Manager has to be brought in before the transfer window opens.

Re: Proper experienced Manager urgently needed.
Poundy, I'm beginning to think the club is too worried about a proper manager shaking things up too much . Things are too cushy and to prove it just look at some of the contract extensions that were handed out .PoundhillO wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2019 5:09 pm After today’s match tactics from Embleton he has to publicly state that he does not want the job and a proven, experienced Manager has to be brought in before the transfer window opens.

Re: Proper experienced Manager urgently needed.
We need to move away from contract extensions as an argument. Out of all the ones given out only his own son appears like Justin didn't approve it. The rest where approved by the main man, just like Alabi was listed and then Ling took him off the list. Follow the crumbs and you will find the answers.

It's just been mentioned on Quest that it's been reported Grimsby have made an approach for Ian Holloway. Holloway himself just said he would love to get back into football management and Grimsby could suit him. Now why the hell aren't we going in for him. He's just the type of manager we're crying out for . With all due respect to Grimsby ,I can't believe they are a better club than us

I believe that given the plethora of evidence in existence it would be difficult to argue otherwise.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2019 11:30 pmIs he ?Max B Gold wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2019 11:01 pmHe is a certified stone mad bampot.
