I agree, I dont think we are even candidates to go down. What we need is an improvement and quickly and I hope and believe that the current coaching team can sort this mess out. Cos like Ling said he ain't looking and he wants re to take the job full time, which I believe would be an error. A number 2, a coach yes, a manager no thanks.

On current form we're the worst side in bottom half, Crawley equally bad. If that doesn't turn around we're definite relegation candidates given we've lost first round of fixtures against sides around us. Oldham supposedly are the other basement whipping boys we're playing soon. Lose that as well and alarm bells are ringing.

Ling isn't looking? FFS. If that's true he should be looking for another job.
The guy we've got now didn't do very well last time, doesn't want the job and his behaviour in siding with the players against Fletcher is unprofessional.
I have serious concerns about the way the club is being run. Barry would never have done it like this.

Ling must be looking as Embleton said after yesterday’s defeat
“A month or so ago I said [while interim head coach] that I didn’t want the job on a permanent basis. I’m not going to stand here now and say I want the job, because that would look ridiculous.”

Funny how you criticise me for saying the same thing, albeit more clearly.

I just hope that some of the points allegedly raised by Fletcher are considered and acted upon.
Like fitness for example. I’d like to see us become a ‘Pressing team’ but apparently Fletch identified our lack of fitness as a reason Why, with the current squad, it wasn’t possible.
Not sure where we go now, Ross probably doesn’t want the job but I reckon he will be there until the end of the season.
Poundy’ I’m with you in that I also think we need an experienced Manager, but I know it’s not gonna happen ‘cos the current coaches have their jobs virtually guaranteed and any top Manager will bring a coaching team with him.
I’m hoping that when Angol and Wilkinson are fit to start then results will improve otherwise we really could be in danger of going back down.

Didn't ross say in his interview that he's changed his mind about wanting the job having thought about it the last 29 days?

Not in so many words because that would be ridiculous. But yes.
And from the q and a yesterday, it appears he’s going to give it a go for a few months and see where we’re at.

Could it be like a break up? Ross didn’t want the job, but can’t bear to see someone else have it?

Don’t think so, Ross is a true O through and through, I really hope the three of them do well.

We all do but without reinforcements, the season looks bleak.

Agreed a combative central midfield player and a centre forward.

As a minimum and decent cover for Widdowson.

Ogie is there for that, a left back will not be signed in my opinion.

It seems to be forgotten that Sweeney did very well last season when he covered at left back for Widdowson, so why is he never mentioned as being in contention for that position ?

Then he should be played then. It is madness we keep on playing fellas out of position when Joe is not there.
