Very good result and well played boys! It will be interesting to hear from the self proclaimed “ experts” on here about how it is that Matt Harrold is not good enough to start!😀

All over.
Yes, thank God for that . What's even better is we're a further 3pts away from the bottom team with Stevenage having lost 3-1 to Colchester. I just want us to survive this season and find our feet again at this level.
Closer to playoffs (7 points) than relegation (8). No reason Orient can’t make top 7 if they put a decent run together. From what I have seen there isn’t a great deal between the top 20 clubs, all can beat each other on their day. Just a shame Os are 20th in that list.

It's not about not good enough, it's whether he can do that week in week out for the next 2 months until transfer window opens.

Can only imagine how much better off we'd be had he been playing ahead of Alabi.

Do we know ANY of our players can perform week in week out for the next 2 months until the transfer window opens? Of course not. I think today shows Matt Harrold is capable of doing so in the same way Angol and Wilkinson are also capable - that is my point.

That's got me thinking about Angol. Does anybody know when he might be back .?

Streamed it. Well done Os. In charge of that completely. We're starting to show signs of exactly what we are in this league which is a decent mid table side. We won't pull up many trees this year but we've definitely got the quality to stay well afloat and away from relegation and I'll take that any day with what happened over the summer.

I was very impressed with the way we saw out the last 10-15 minutes, only one hairy moment where they probably should have scored. Good game management and everyone put a shift in. Special mention to Marv Ekpiteta, hasn't been the easiest time for him this year but he was outstanding in an unfamiliar role. Amazing what a win does, things look a lot brighter, onwards and upwards.

Based on age and previous injury record it's going to require careful management of fitness etc.

I don't think Angol and Wilkinson work as a partnership. Both seem happier feeding off a target man, in this case Harrold.

Abandon the 5 at the back and clean sheet, much better. Hope we don't revert back for the next home game after a positive result today.

Also James Brophy is absolutely critical to this sides success. His final ball is usually toilet and was a couple of times today but he took that goal brilliantly and his direct running makes us such a threat, allowing us to get into good areas up the pitch

For me personally Brothy is our best player.Imagine if he could iron out a few of his flaws

I agree . After spending two seasons in the National League and what we've been through as a club, I'll take being a decent mid table League Two side all day long. Thinking about years ago , I'll NEVER complain again about being in League two.

And I couldn't agree more with that sentiment. The thought of ever going back to what we had to put up with in those two years sends chills. Don't even know where to start in describing how much better being back in the football league is

It's bizzare I feel like Ross is 80% there, the players believe in him, sometimes it looks great the other 20% he seems to make stupid selections or subs, such a shame.

Spot on. I remember years ago when we failed at the playoffs in Cardiff being fed up with watching another season of poor L2 football.

Having seen just how tinpot and crap NL is (plus what seems to be a step up in quality of L2) I'm happy just being able to watch decent football again.

I might agree if Ross was getting 80% results but sadly not, that’s why we need a proven experienced Manager at this level !

What does "If Ross was getting 80% results" even mean? If it means a combination of wins and draws then only four teams in our division have done that. So are you saying Embleton was only good enough if we were in with those four teams?

Also streamed it. Northampton looked short of quality compared to what l've seen so far, l thought we had better players generally, particularly Harrold, Wilkinson and Brophy. We still got let off at the back on a couple of occasions so there's work to do there but l would make a modest bet we'll finish above the Cobblers.

We were there. Good away performance. Definite signs of improvement and the defence getting a bit more up to speed.
Great goal right in front of the travelling O’s.
Think we deserved it. We will come comfortably in mid table.
Didn’t think much of the cobblers.

I think you'll need a sample size greater than one game to convince those that preferred us not to sign him for an additional season. Particularly because the rationale behind this was to put his salary towards a younger upgrade.

Totally agree. If Northampton are a mid-table team, I think we should be fine.
