As did England in the euros 2016
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36450648
Remember the one where the Russian Hooligans Savagely stabbed English people all over France ?
I will however not be apologising as the last Fixture between as The womens team played 2 world cup qualifiers both of which were in 2015 1 whole year before Englands mens team played them in the Euros.
What has England got to do with this? The original point that you were attempting to refute was that some in Ireland seem to be taking an inconsistent approach to this fixture compared to others that they have played.
Will you apologise for calling me a liar for saying ROI played Russia in the years between 2014 and 2022? You did that twice and it is objectively true that this did happen.
Since 1948 & The formation of the Republic & many in the 6 counties have been consitant in supporting the oppresed. Other than a few hundred to a couple of thousand right bigots! Why would I apolgise for something you made a mistake on ?
You may choose to apologise, or not, for calling me a liar fir stating the fact that ROI have played against Russia in the years between 2014 and 2022.
I'll give you that opportunity once more.

At no point have I claimed that ROI have played Russia since the February 2022 full invasion. They played after the 2014 annexation of parts of Ukraine, until the 2022 full invasion as I clearly set out in my post you have quoted.
You see in 2014 Only Crimea had been Annexed
Not as You Stated Anexation of parts of Ukraine
Big Mistake Parts didnt happen until 2022.
The Donbass etc , So clearly you were trying to
mislead which is Worse than Lying .
So there is No NEED for me to APOLOGISE for a MISTAKE YOU made .
You made the mistake twice becuse you thought you'd got away with it the 1st time but a good detective will always let a Monkey Hang itself !
I do Hope that clears things up.

There is a possible case for Israel to be suspended from Uefa. There is a possible argument that Ireland would be within their rights to not fulfill the fixture.
What I find hard to accept is firstly that the Irish team and players will refuse to shake hands with their Israeli counterparts. This is clearly personalising the issue, when the argument is that their issue is with the Israeli government and its actions.
I also find it difficult to accept the argument that Ireland are consistent in their actions. The Republic of Ireland Women's team seemed happy enough to play Russia, just months after their invasion and annexation of parts of Ukraine, and have played since, before Russia's suspension in 2022. They've also played countries with poor human rights records like Qatar, but will accept this is a slightly different issue.
And here is your First entry just to back up my point in all its glory. Look specofically where you say annexation of parts .
Cheers Thankyou

I really don't think you know what you're arguing about anymore.
Do you accept that Russia invaded and annexed parts of Russia in 2014? Do you accept that ROI played fixtures against Russia between 2014 and 2022?
If you are willing to accept those facts, are you then willing to accept that the claim that 'Ireland always stands up for the oppressed' is at least questionable?

You really are Clueless arent you.
Only Crimea had been annexed before 24th of February2022.
The 24th was the start of The Special Military operation
If you don't believe me check out the U.K. Governments page on the conflict what had been annexed & what had been fought over between russia & Ukraine.
Nothing else had been annexed prior as you claim

Sounds like VeganO has been secretly noshing on the pork sausages again, and is once again obsessively telling porkie pies about me.
This thread - started by the racist Qin - bashes the multi-diverse Israeli national football team (inclusive of
Muslim,
Christian Arab, and
Druze players alongside
Jewish teammates)
that Qin wants to ban from the international stage.
Always challenging the "mob mentality", I often get inspired to research the shouty mob's viewpoint through a different lens (away from their pitchforks, pyres, slogans and slander), and I have pointed out how
religiously diverse that Isreali football set-up actually is. No spinning, VeganO, just facts about a football set-up in a far away land.
I also compared the current Israeli national football set-up with our own four UK home nations' current footy set-up and as far as I know from a religion standpoint all of England, Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland has a high percentage of Christian-born players and just the one Muslim-born player (the excellent Djed Spence who I am a big fan of). I guess that is to be expected seeing as we are a Christian nation.
You evidently have nothing to actually add to this football discussion started/baited by Qin, so either disprove my minimal research, VeganO, or go and nosh down another pork sausage.
My comments are directed at your general conduct on this Forum & your utter failure to condemn the behaviour of the Israeli Govt. Whether the Israeli football team is multi racial or not is irrelevant when set against the genocidal & apartheid policies of the Israeli Government. What is relevant is your disdain for non - Israeli life & your constant ignoring of the truth. That makes you a really unpleasant racist, something you accuse others of.
Stop trying to tie me to a government of which I know little from a far off land, VeganO, on this thread about football.
Like Qin, your understanding of the word "apartheid" is so poor that you cannot see the evidence such as from last week's Israeli footy teamsheet that fully contradicts your misguided theory, e.g. number 17 Anan Khalaili (Muslim) and number 22 Sayed Abu Farchi (Muslim) started their last game against Austria on Thursday.
If Israel was an apartheid state like 20th century South Africa then these players would not feature in the national team at all, but they do feature and they thrive. But racist Qin wants them banned.
" Stop trying to tie me to a Government of which I know little ... " says MalvoliO.
This is the same boarder who at every turn defends in detail the actions of a Government who he says he knows little about. Inconsistency writ large.
Some of us are getting tired of your ridiculous defence of an appalling Government & their murderous policies.

So even if I accept your pedantic point that only 'part' of Ukraine had been annexed (which I won't because Crimea and Sevastepol were separate administrative regions in 2014, as it happens), rather than 'parts', you are standing by your comment that I was a liar for suggesting that ROI played fixtures against Russia between 2014 and 2022.
If you want to just accept that you misread my original post and thought I was saying it was post 2022, I'll happily accept that mistake from you as an honest one, rather than just trying to argue a technicality unrelated to the substance of my point.

Okay, so you have resorted to arguing a technicality rather than apologising for throwing around accusations.
I'm willing to yield and say, okay maybe you have a point and Russia did only amnex and invade 'part'of Ukraine in 2014.
Do you think, given Russia had invaded and annexed part of Ukraine in 2014, that by playing against Russia in the years between 2014 and 2022, Ireland was standing up for the oppressed?

I'll ask VeganO again... (and if you sidestep this footy-related question again, then we will all know that you are very happy to parrot a slogan about "apartheid" but for some reason you refuse to back up your parroting with detailed facts).
Can you elaborate on your knowledge of the "apartheid policies of the Israeli government", VeganO. And then please explain why the Israeli national football setup gets to seemingly bypass those policies?
Seeing as at least four different religions are represented in that Israeli footy setup team, I wonder how the apartheid segregation you shriek about is applied...

I was just wondering would Ireland ever have a problem playing against Nigeria considering the genocide of the Christian population in that country .
Who's doing the oppressing in that scenario, RedDwarf 1881?
The UN has stated that both Muslim and Christian populations have suffered casualties in Nigeria. And I am not sure that the term "genocide" has been proven yet by an international court in the case of Nigeria, to my knowledge.
“Security remains one of Nigeria’s major challenges,” said Mohamed Malik Fall, the UN resident and humanitarian coordinator. “You can no longer associate it with a single region. It is almost everywhere.”

Subjugation by way of illegal military invasion and annexation most certainly is oppression.

Hmmm, Bandy Legs assures us on the Israel thread that he only has a problem with the current Israeli government.
Yet here he is in all his racist glory telling the whole nation of Israel (or possibly only its non-apartheid national football team) to go f itself.
His mask slips again.
p.s. as I say on the Israel thread - every innocent life lost in a war is a tragedy, whatever their religion, sex, class, age, profession etc.
