Got given Roxette’s Greatest Hits for Christmas, following a chance remark at home that it was sad that singer Marie Fredriksson had died (not long before Xmas). Would never have described myself as a big fan, knew a handful of their songs and that was it, but having listened to the album I can’t stop playing it!

Excellent choice, Lovejoy.
Did you used to go under the username of Roffey's Left Foot by any chance, because he knew a thing or two about good music?

Yes, that is me. I first started seriously listening to music in the late 1960s and then into the 1970s, so a lot of the rock bands from that era are on my play list. A fantastic time to be around to listen to it all and an era that will never be repeated.

Prodigy - Music for the Jilted Generation. (easily the equal of global smash 'Fat of the Land' imo)

Shape of Broad Minds- Craft of the Lost Art (abstract and futuristic hip-hop)

Father John Misty - I Love You, Honeybear (biting, acerbic, lyrics over what is to a large degree a Country record: complex, and confusing)

What have others got on rotation today?....

Fantastic album. I prefer Fear Fun ever so slightly but both great. Saw him live at Glasto a few years back and didnt disappoint. One of the few properly great songwriters of this generation.

Enjoying Sampa The Greats debut album The Return. Pretty strong throughout but sounds like one of those artists where this is just a starting point and they will get better and better. one to watch.

Not heard that one (Fear Fun), though got 'Pure Comedy', which is more introspective than 'Honeybear' - Thanks, will check that out.

I think his stint at Glasto was televised, and that's where I latched onto him originally. He's a great songwriter- I like that the whole thing 'feels' like a parody, like he's just sending himself up the whole time...
