Money is a factor which is why we have been looking at Sam Hutchinson and others.
I assume that there will be players who have had trials for championship teams who are not taken on who will become available and could enhance the squad who we are keeping an eye on.

We've lost Portsmouth, Derby and Oxford - people seem to forget that when they parrot the Investors 'It's much tougher this season' mantra.

Perhaps you need to take a good hard look at what we are up against this season, it's much tougher than last year. we may have lost those clubs but they have been replaced by Birmingham City, Huddersfield, Wrexham, Rotherham. The odds don't lie. All of these clubs will have larger budgets than us if we get anywhere near the play offs it will be a massive success. No one is parroting anyone it's just a fact.

Birmingham
4/6
Bolton
5/2
Rotherham
11/4
Wrexham
7/2
Charlton
4/1
Huddersfield
4/1
Peterborough
4/1
Barnsley
5/1
Blackpool
11/2

And we've gained Birmingham, Huddersfield, Wrexham, Stockport but lost Fleetwood, Carlisle, Cheltenham and Port Vale. This season will definitely be harder than last.

So lost the 3 teams with bigger budgets than us that I listed, but gained the 4 teams you have listed.

You're just repeating the Investors expectation managements rhetoric.

Tell Richie he should be aiming for mid-table and see what he says to that....

Also after a disappointing Summer with transfers we’re going to be weaker than last season. I wish we could get Shaq Forde back. In my opinion we’re still a LB, CM and CF short . Our squad is still too weak .

Not said that's where we should be aiming but that is where I can realistically see us ending up. I listed four, but other than Birmingham who have a reported £30million war chest the top ten in the betting are all bigger than us resource and finance wise. We haven't got a large pot of Money to spend on wages but in relation to our income it's OK. I remember last season when the usual suspects had has relegated after four games and Richie certain to leave.

I think perhaps the owners and RW have more realistic expectations to some of our fans. If we steer clear of serious injury who knows.

No way will Richie be expecting or happy with a mid table finish. It's disrespectful to suggest otherwise.

The final comment hits the nail on the head. Our non-football investors are banking on no injuries. Sadly, the chance of injury is dramatically increased by overworking the players we have signed.

The 2 or 3 players still to come in need to be of a standard that they can add genuine first team competition.

Doesn't ffp play massively into this. Not owning our ground as virtually everyone else in the league does limits how and what we can do to monetise it.

Clare in for Sweeney so full backs same as last season

We do look a bit light upfront, but having seen how Wellens sets his sides up over the last 2 and a bit seasons, it's entirely in character and hasn't impeded our progress in that time

Your fixation with the “investors” Is weird. Any savings on Pigotts wages will go back into the playing budget, some of which will be held back until the January window. But RW still wants two players before this window closes a winger and a midfield player.
Holding back budget for the January transfer window when the squad is nowhere near deep enough in August is completely mental.
Er it's something we do every season, spend it all up front and then get injuries and you are screwed, We had to spend most of the budget up front last season because of the three injuries to senior pro's we picked up in pre season and we had very little budget left in January.

Squad is plenty good enough for mid table which is where we need to be aiming this season.
Where did I say “spend it all”?

I love Wellens but even I don't think he's capable of winning us the Premier League this coming season.

Which wasn't enough and wound up with us playing one of our best players out of position. We need more depth out there, otherwise we are an injury or suspension away from relying on Sweeney.

Apart from in January when it prevented RW having a proper go at the play-offs when he wanted a striker and got given two youth loanees instead?

It's looking like we're going to start the new season with a strike force of Agyei , Kelman and Perkins . What could possibly go wrong .

As often with Leyton Orient, supporters must temper their expectations with cold reality. This Club runs on a tight budget yet still supposedly loses around 2 or 3 million pounds a year, so we have to get the best players we can on a smaller budget compared to the clubs in this division who have a lot more to spend on players and wages than we do, so its a case of ''Moneys too tight to mention'' Be grateful for the fact that we have a manager who makes the best use of the players that he has at his disposal and for this season, if we get in the play offs or higher, then that will be a massive achievement !.

My expectations at Orient has never been high and the cold reality is I think we're going to be fighting against relegation this season . Our squad is still too weak . We are three first choice players short . A left back , central midfielder and a striker

Let us hope for some pleasant surprises, sometimes squad unity can bring surprises, its not always the teams with the best players on paper, who get the best results !! Look at the surprises you often get in the FA Cup !!

Last seasons best midfield was Brown - El Miz - Galbraith (not that we saw it much). That was good enough to compete with the best in this division.

The current best midfield is Brown - Warrington - Galbraith. Brown continues to develop and is a better player than he was 12 months ago. Galbraith looks to be more settled and ready to show everyone his undoubted quality. Warrington looks like he will be a more than adequate replacement for El Miz in no time.

Yes, we need more depth. No, we don't need a first choice midfielder.
