He's been bang average all season at best, just not a very good keeper. There's an interesting thread on the other board that shows it with his statsRedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2024 4:52 pmHe's been fine until recently . What has happened to him ?
Yeah, we'll need to look for a new keeper during the Summer .gshaw wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2024 4:52 pmHe's been bang average all season at best, just not a very good keeper. I doubt he'll ever come back after whatever happened between him and Lingy . Break the bank and sign El-Miz or we'll struggle next year . Stockport and Wrexham are coming up and will probably have more resources than us so we need to sign players of his quality . It's going to be a crucial Summer signing the right players because we can't afford anymore Pigott-esque style signings.
I seriously doubt he would come back anyway even if he wasn't . In my opinion Adams is a complete non starter . I can see him signing for Derby on a permanent bases .
Could be that next season we will be struggling, especially if Richie leaves.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2024 5:11 pmI doubt he'll ever come back after whatever happened between him and Lingy . Adams went on loan to Derby to get fit again, so he may well stop at Cardiff if he can prove his fitness to them.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2024 5:16 pmI seriously doubt he would come back anyway even if he wasn't . Yes , of course . He's already in the Championship at Cardiff so would probably only move to another Championship club . That's what I meant .Chicken Dhansak wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2024 5:34 pm Of course he would sign for Derby, why would he want to sign for a very average league 1 club when he could sign for a championship club, assuming that Derby get there. It's a no brainer.
That's what I'm a bit afraid about . With Stockport and Wrexham coming up it's going to be a tougher league next season . We must back Richie up in the transfer market as far as we can . Signing El-Miz would be an excellent start .Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2024 5:50 pmCould be that next season we will be struggling, especially if Richie leaves.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2024 5:11 pmI doubt he'll ever come back after whatever happened between him and Lingy . Nobody has been forced on Richie. We missed out on the experienced striker in January but the budget is what it is. It’s the injuries that have cost us, take Seven first teamers out of any squad in the league and they will struggle most of ours would be starters. We have a lot of young players who will get better, 10th in our first season back in L1 is a decent effort. Today’s opponents have a playing budget probably 4 times ours. Look at the table and it’s the big budget clubs at the top.PoundhillO wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2024 6:17 pm If the club want to keep RW they need to sign the players he wants that are so obviously needed and not be forced to accept players he does not want or he will be off. Yes we have had injuries but what team hasn’t, it’s the quality, first team experience at our level and above and depth of the squad that has cost us at least a play off place.
He still has a year on his contract at CardiffChicken Dhansak wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2024 5:34 pm Of course he would sign for Derby, why would he want to sign for a very average league 1 club when he could sign for a championship club, assuming that Derby get there. It's a no brainer.
“ the budget is what it is” and that’s the root of our problem and until that changes it will remain that the big budget clubs get promoted and that’s what needs to change if we are to be successful in promotion to the Championship.Top of the JES wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2024 7:32 pmNobody has been forced on Richie.
