Him being introduced originally coincided with our 1st clean sheet & wins & many points along the way.
Taking revenge on the Derby player who put him
on the deck in the 1sst half is understandable.
Dean Smith did the same thing to Leo Fortune West
Months after his own injured eye.
Fortune West & Dean were both out for about 3 months .
O's fans still love Deano.
An eye for an eye & all that.
Either way Deano was never told he needs to
control his temper as Cooper seems to be

Re: Brandon Cooper
I think the signing makes sense on many levels.
Whatever fee we paid, it would not have been significant.
Good age and sell on value. Will improve you’d think.
A solid league 1 player. Sure the Derby red card was incredibly foolish but you have to think he’d have learned from that and hopefully out of his system.
I do think important to have 4 centre backs in the squad, particularly if we switch up to a back 3.
Could turn out to be a good bit of business looking back on this, I hope so.

Re: Brandon Cooper
Re the Cooper elbow debate a few years ago we had a centre half on loan from Dundee United called David Partridge, played a couple away games for us and was OK but on his home debut he was sent off for elbowing Terry Evans of Swansea (ironically). While Coopers elbow was somewhat sneaky on the blind side of the referee and was unseen at the time by most, Partridge right in front of the East stand led with Elbow running at full tilt into an aerial challenge right by the touchline, you could here the crack as Evans cheek was shattered it was an outrageous challenge far worse than Coopers. Partridge was deservedly sent off and was lucky to get away with just a three match ban - it was basically assault.

Can't see us getting a fee from selling him but otherwise agree.Jman wrote: ↑Wed Jan 17, 2024 10:44 am I think the signing makes sense on many levels.

It improves the strength of the squad, if not improving the first team.
He needs to get a lot, lot better on the ball though if he wants to be part of a Richie Wellens team, though.

Re: Brandon Cooper
Well if he has a phenomenal season next year, we could get a good fee for him as he’s signed a 2.5 yr contract and would still be a good age.
Wouldn’t massively shock me if Swansea have a buy back clause / first option as a lot their fans are surprised they let him go. Which is always a good sign.

Don't even think the Fanzines made a big seal of it &
Just accepted it happens in Football.
The woke lot seem to think players don't carry grudges.
If someone ķicks elbows or punches a player
then it's coming back. All this nonsense about controlling tempers. Wellens even said after the game.
I’m not worried about stuff like that.
Tells me Cooper told him he got elbowed & Wellens
Understood.

Re: Brandon Cooper
Well we've signed him on a two year contract so it's no big deal . He's a good player so I'm glad we've managed to get him back .
