Could be good if he gets the service. Problem last year was that our style of play did not offer a lot for a central striker. Lots of our goals came off the wings, long range wordlies, pens or oppo defensive calamities. Our game was all about possession and control kind of like a L2 Spain 2010.

Everyone slates Kelman but he pretty much matched his expected goals for last season from what I recall and didn't miss loads of chances. Just didn't get that many.

How this guy does really depends a lot on how or if our style of play changes much from last season when we can't boss games. Maybe this will give our strikers a bit of chance if they aren't against sat-in back lines most games.

Anyway lets give the bloke a warm welcome and a chance to show what he can do.
Agree with most of the above, our style last year, though successful didn’t create loads of chances for our Centre Forward striker, be it Kelman or whoever. In fact I think Ruel looked the most dangerous when played up front in a central role, but anyway Pigott needs to be given a chance before making ‘informed’ opinions on him.
I think teams will come at us more in L1 and this may help our strikers with more space.

That is a concern but like others have said maybe Richie can get him to shine . Having thought about it maybe the club did want McCauley Bonne but we couldn't afford his wages . As always it's down to money and we have to stay within our budget . As far as I'm aware we're now waiting on just two more players , a winger and a CB. Hopefully the CB is Ed Turns on another loan . God knows who our new winger will be .

If he is who Richie wanted then he has more than enough credit for us to trust him with his decision. I’ve never seen or heard of the guy before.

Think we may of missed a trick by not signing Bonne especially as he is a free but perhaps he may of left the club under a bit of a cloud? Also Armstrong but they won’t pay a fee so can understand that one. Thing is we were told they have a “competitive budget”and the fact they have let a few players go especially the ones that must of been on a top wage Vigs and Smyth, and they got money for Ogie plus they have had a good response as far as ST sales just makes me wonder. Sure they have bought in 3/4 good players but I wouldn’t call Pigot that exceptional. I’m expecting 12/15 goals from him this season which is a slight upgrade from Drinnan🙈

A slight upgrade on Drinan????????????????
Drinan got 2 goals last season, and IMO, one of those was already over the line when he touched it.
If Pigot were to get 12/15 goals, how can that be a SLIGHT upgrade over drinan, its a HUGE upgrade over Drinan

Bonne could not have left the club on better terms, he’s kept in touch with Ling ever since but the stumbling block to him returning has always been his wages, when he was released in the new year Ling spoke to him and we were a mile off hat he wanted. I’m sure he’s holding on for what he wants which may not be anywhere near what he gets offered.

It looks like a difficult time for Macca. He'd be accustomed to being a hot ticket at something like level 2 but it hasn't really worked for him and now finds himself a free agent. I'm sure he'll get a job but it will be on a "your not famous any more" contract.

In his career Drinan has scored 32 goals in 10,745 minutes. This averages to 1 goal every 336 minutes. This equates to 12.33 goals a season. Not sure how you think 12/15 is a HUGE upgrade.

12/15 goals in a huge upgrade on 2 goals. Its 6 or 7 times better. The original poster was talking about last season, not career

Yeah he's kept following Orient all the way along. Wonder if he has a greedy agent in the background pulling strings too.

I don't actually dispute Pigott is probably the better player, I just don't appreciate people slating Drinan on last season alone, when he was injury prone and didn't start many matches, choosing to ignore the previous season when he was much better.

But the same as Drinans injury free season. Agyei Piggot & uninjured Drinan have the potential for 45 + goals between them . Throw in Ruel Theo George the Belly there is another 15 -20. Not forgetting TJ Omar Prats Idris &Galbraith & Sanders to get 10-15 between them, scoring goals will not be our problem.

Some fans are not happy unless they are moaning, we sign a No.9 who can also play wide if needed, and they are still not happy!

We have just signed a Striker, who I believe many L1 teams would have been happy to sign.

Last couple of moves have not worked out for Pigott, and majority of his apps have been as subs for Pompey/Ipswich, but when he was a regular starter, he proved at Wimbledon, he can score goals!

Pigott is a goalscorer, and give him the chances, he will score 10-15 goals this season, so let’s just get behind him, and welcome him to our club.
In RW we trust 💪🏻
