Why do I think Desperate Dan when I think about Andrew Whing??? Did he have a dodgy chin or something??LOFC1948 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2019 9:44 pmYep - I go with you on Whing - very decent.gshaw wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2019 1:22 pmAndrew Whing did a good job for us in the 2010 season where we had the FA Cup run. Scored the best goal I've seen an RB hit too. Matt Joseph gets my all-time favourite vote though.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2019 10:20 am actually thinking back, we've never really had any great right backs in the last 20-30 years, have we?
Even in 2006 when we went up Tan and Miller weren't exactly spectacular. In 2013/14 Scott Cuthbert basically covered the whole year, good player but a centre back. Last season it was probably our weakest position overall...
Best one was probably Matt Joseph...
Strange logic.Lucky7 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2019 6:40 pm? I see him as a like for like for Koroma . I reckon Coulthurst would be a good signing.Eat The Rich wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2019 9:59 pm Coulthirst has always been a really hardworking forward. Not the most prolific or pacey but he won't give defenders a moments peace.
Because I don't think he justifies a fee as a third choice. Why are you being intentionally thick?Lucky7 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2019 8:18 pmHis goal ratio is on the same par as Koroma for last season 1 in every 3 is that really bad? so not sure why we wouldn’t pay a fee as he’s still under contractBuddy Manucci wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2019 8:08 pmWith a minimal goal ratio, and hardly set the world on fire in non league. Would be an improvement on Alabi for sure, but wouldnt want to pay a fee for him.
I don't really know anything about Anthony Grant. What do you all think , would he be a good signing. ? I wonder why he fell out with Sam Ricketts.
Eric Lichaj was better than Whing IMOLOFC1948 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2019 9:44 pmYep - I go with you on Whing - very decent.gshaw wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2019 1:22 pmAndrew Whing did a good job for us in the 2010 season where we had the FA Cup run. So same goal ratio as Wilkinson and Koroma still under contractBuddy Manucci wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2019 10:55 pmBecause I don't think he justifies a fee as a third choice. He might start off as a 3rd choice striker but if he does well he could become a first team starter. I reckon Coulthirst and Angol could become a good partnership in the mould of Bonne and KoromaBuddy Manucci wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2019 9:38 am I don't think we will get him for free, and haven't said we would. Excellent signing. Prone to walking a disciplinary tightrope at times, but a League One-standard, no-nonsense sh*t-kicker. I’d love him here.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2019 11:06 pmI don't really know anything about Anthony Grant. What do you all think , would he be a good signing. ? The name doesn't ring a bell, got a video clip of it?Kitch’s Magic Toes wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2019 10:16 amBetter than David Raven for Carlisle? Not having that.
Same. Just what we are missing. I do worry about a disruptive personality coming in though, especially given the horrible circumstances this season and the obvious bond between the current squad.Kitch’s Magic Toes wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2019 10:19 amExcellent signing. What is this nonsense?Buddy Manucci wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2019 9:38 am I don't think we will get him for free, and haven't said we would. He would command a fee, and I wouldn't want the club to do that for a third or fourth choice player.
Buddy Manucci wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2019 11:09 am I'd love the club to pay a fee for Dennis or Hemmings, who we have both been linked with. I'd also like Alfie Rutherford if we are talking about non league players.
I personally don't think Coulthirst is good enough, hence I personally wouldn't want the club to pay a fee for him.
Not sure who said that or when?
Read earlier posts to see this being said about Coulthurst.CreamofSumYungGai wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2019 1:59 pmNot sure who said that or when?
I'm guessing the perceived ambition is not at the individual players but at having 3 first choice strikers competing for 2 spots?
