Wasn't Putin still undecided back in those days? I thought he only went full-on anti-West about 2007.
Is this some sort of guessing game now?
He's always been anti West all year way back to his days in the KGB/Station in East Germany in the 80s.
I mean't; Wasn't he still pretending to be open to closer alignment then? Or even still contemplating which direction was in his best interest?
I'm not as much of a Putin expert as you. I'm still early into Belton's book, as there's a lot of words.
Don't worry too much about Belton just keep c&ping from your other "sources"

BBC pulling their reporting from Russia because of new laws against independent journalism
Another victim of NATO expansion
The Tories are going to go effing mental when they hear about a far right wingnut interfering with independent journalism at the BBC.

It's a shame you have to watch us heavyweights going at it, whilst remaining on the unused subs bench along with Comeupyourarse. Still, at least you can reminisce about when you were a good at boardin'.
Even in my prime, I wouldn’t have been able to engage in such debate.
I could have sniped from the sidelines much more
efficiently, however.
Effectively. The word you're looking for is
effectively, you imbecile.
No I meant efficiently. In, 1 sarky post, out. None of this backwards and forwards, responding to insults, wasting my precious time.

Fair enough. I accept that said boardin' style has its place, just as much as arguing endlessly to a point of tedium even when I don't necessarily disagree. But these are the paths we must choose.
I just remember when your sarky posts were also effective. Back when you could adopt a contrarian position, irrespective of your own personal beliefs, and challenge others to question themselves. There was a time when it wouldn't have been left to the likes of me to do the heavy lifting on threads such as Woke Watch.
I believe that border is still in there. Just waiting to rediscover their purpose and regain past glories. All it requires is the will, a boardin' training montage and a suitably inspiring theme tune.

Johnson loves mingling with the Russian wealthy elite and celebrated his 2019 electoral victory in that company.

He also elevated Lebedev to the House of Lords, against the advice from MI5 and MI6, having enjoyed parties with Lebedev for some years:

Which might go a long way to explain why the UK is lagging behind the rest of the World in freezing the assets of wealthy Russians. Who'd have thought it eh.

I think we’re up to 10 Russians sanctioned now, plus Helena Bonham Carters brother.
Take that, Putin!

If the max b*stard should do the unthinkable, couldn’t we fire one of our nukes at one of his nukes and explode it somewhere over mainland Europe?

Leyton Orient could always come back from being relegated , no way back from a nuclear attack , yes I'm more worried about the events of the war at the moment ☹

What makes you think he would be sending them.
Or are you just illustrating further pessimism ?

Maybe its because Putin has said he's put his nuclear forces on high alert .

Same in Syria , In fact the Ruskies have never dropped a nuke in
War time , so i can see where the pessimism comes from .

Excellent!
Harrowing pictures on the BBC evening news yesterday of whole families killed by Russian bombs fleeing through so-called "safe" corridors and you're pulling up old Guardian articles from 3 years ago.

When would be a relevant time to mention this Governments links to Russia?

Yeah, if we're going to call out some on the loony-left for allowing themselves to be influenced into useful idiots, we must challenge the corruptible right who were happy to accept ill-gotten gains. And the latter is far more insidious and damaging to our national security. Nobody can claim to by surprised that Oligarch wealth is connected to the Putin regime.
Johnson has serious questions to answer in respect of Lebedev.
