And in a months time he'll slip seamlessly into making ever more ridiculous sums of money, consulting and making his after dinner speeches and making sure he never has to interact with any of the plebs again.

I think I misunderstood this as he actually seems to have said he always planned to leave early, which, fair play, is considerably worse. He needs to be permanently accompanied by a large swanee whistle.

Like LSN, I couldnt give a flying one about performative flag shagging but it's delicious to see him getting shafted by it. I've got Kevin Keegan levels of hoping someone produces evidence that he considered binning the whole thing off, I'd absolutely love it.

It's simply wonderful. Every time I think of it - the more I think of it - the worse it gets.

Of all the way it looks terrible, I think the worst is deciding a pre recorded interview with itv that'll air next week was a more important way to spend the afternoon whilst Zelensky managed to stick around despite being in charge of running an actual war.

A spectator journalist described Sunak as looking continuously surprised as the timetable and scheduling of an election that he decided in the first place.

I'm sure some kind of incriminating email will be leaked, they're probably just allowing this to get worse before dropping it as the cherry on the cake.

There’s no good version of what happened, but it really does seem to get worse and worse, optics wise

Save it for the next leader debate - pull out the evidence from a pocket after he's doubled down on his claims. Delicious.

Don't think anyone had this particular one down as the most controversial cross-channel journey of the election campaign.

Can’t believe you called an MP a waste of space. Obsessed. Hope you don’t do that elsewhere on social media

To be fair to Penny Mordaunt she's the last decent Tory frontbencher they've got . When Boris left I was hoping they would make her leader because I think she's a formidable politician . However it's too late now even for her to pull any rabbits out of the hat . The Tories a 4ked.

The only way for her to be decent is to cross the floor
