Derek Ufton former Charlton and Kent wicketkeeper passed away aged 92. To be a professional in one sport is hard enough to do it in two shows he was a very special sportsmen.

There’s a surprisingly long list of pro footballers/first class cricketers.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_E ... ll_players

I remember Chris Balderstone as a kid, and of course Beefy Botham having a run out at Scunny.

Looking at that wiki page, see Geoff Hurst turned out for Essex (got a pair in his only 1st team match), and David Bairstow played for the Bantams. Also, a few with Orient connections on there.

Ah, this one is particularly sad.

Sarah Hughes, the Observer and Guardian journalist, has died from cancer at 48. I used to particularly enjoy her Line of Duty episode recaps, of which she posted her latest one on episode 3 the day before she died: www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2021/a ... -three-bbc

Two sad ones today. Agree with Dunners, loved Sarah Hughes TV blogs and often read them straight after an episode to enhance my enjoyment and in LOD case, my understanding.
And sh*t on It is all I can say about John Ritter.

RIP Arch Turncoat Shirley Williams. Her mum has been patiently awaiting her demise so that she can beat her over the head with her umbrella. ( Or do Pacifists do that? )
