I'm not watching - don't know.

Twas a dum joke referencing Russ Abbot rather than Diane - clue being in the capitalization of Atmosphere.

Labour want to put 650k kids whose parents pay for their education back in to the state system.

Now I wonder what low paid section of society will feel the pain most? It won't be the rich, the poor will end up paying a disproportionate amount.

Stupid policy.

Ok. What about we make the rich pay for it. Does that help you any?

This all begs the question, where do the best teachers teach? As teachers pay has gone backwards under this government to the tune of 8 or 9%, the same as many other public sector jobs, it would seem obvious that the fee paying schools are able to take their pick. Many would want a the class of 12 pupils rather than 36 and the higher wages, but we are fortunate that there are still enough good teachers who have a calling to work in local authority schools.

I do smile at the "get rid of the bad teachers and get good ones" as it so simplistic to be almost absurd. You don't just get good teachers you have to train them and then develop them, if you don't there is a chance that they will become bad teachers. Making them work in underfunded and overcrowded classrooms is not going to help them develop. Mind you if you close the Public and Grammer schools a lot of good teachers will become available.

Quite right Max. Once this right goes we can all go back to being lazy bastards and not bother with creating a better life for yourself and family. No point, the state just takes what you’ve earnt.

Spare cave anyone.

After yesterday's shambles at the labour conference, where a vote was lost, but actually won! You can't make this stuff up, has labour now become fully unelectable even more than before?

Is the party now just a cult?

Check out Diane Abbotts tweet 6.05pm and look at the 4 figure (comments) labour supports absolutely slaughtering the stance the party has taken.

The end is nigh for labour.

Earnt?

Do you reckon the previous duke of Westminster ‘earnt’ the £10 billion fortune he left to his son, the new multi billionaire duke of Westminster?

This isn’t about you and your 1/2 million pound house that your kids won’t get. This is about fortunes passed down through the generations, untaxed, which keep those parasites at the top of the pile.

Oh yeah the politics of envy.

I don't care what someone else has, I'm not envious nor jealous of any wealth earnt or inherited. Why can't you help out the next generation to have an easier life than the one you may have had or your dad had etc?

We always get this stuff rolled out. They ain’t typical of the majority of hard working people trying to provide a better life for their family.

That’s where it will end.

Of course they're not 'typical'. They're a minority. But a minority with the majority of the wealth accumulated over the generations through god only knows what methods.

This will end that. We all start off equal. A truly meritocratic society. Why are people scared of that?

How would I know if that's it? - I don't follow him about. But he has "commented" on the situation - which was the point I was answering.

Are you on twitter? His name is Jeremy Corbyn - posted yesterday - it's not hard to find. (but clearly beyond my ability to link to)

Funnily enough, our Prime Minister doesn't appear to have even tweeted about it - go figure.

(although, of course, he may have made some other comment on the subject which has passed me by)

Nor has Jo Swinson, after a quick search.

Blimey, old Magic Grandpa is stacking up pretty well against the others in the old "commenting on Turkey's invasion of Syria" stakes.

I wonder if wee Nicola has bothered? Hang on....
